Sounds like they are desperate and not winning the way they thought they could, no? Seems like their military might was over exaggerated. So now they put out veiled threats like this. They have nukes, but at what speed and stealth could they be deployed? And will they work?

I don't care the take on Iraq and how it started, but we went in and managed to take the country rather quickly from across an Ocean across the earth. And sure there were pockets we didn't control and contain. Ukraine is right next door and they cannot get it done. I don't know, I don't think conventional warfare works anymore. Everything seems so established and you really cannot use a nuke.

It's like going to a car dealership in your used car and smashing into the new one you've just paid full price for. I don't have a pony in this race, but this whole conflict doesn't make sense to me at all. Ukraine is fucked, but Russia looks like the loser so far as warfare goes. You can't whine about the West sending weapons in and stalling what should have been a cakewalk. Gotta look in the mirror and realize you're not as powerful as you think.

Euro is taking hits, too.

If Russia stops selling/pumping to Europe. Both go broke. Russia will lose, Europe will get punched in the face. Neither side really has leverage over a senseless war. Have they not learned from the US or their own Afghan war?

I think we're far too advanced at this point for countries to give up territorial boundaries. Russia could have just thrown some cash at what they wanted. They don't have it since it's probably in the hands of like 10 Oligarchs. It's obvious Russia is insecure. Ukraine should have been easy pickings. I don't care about inflow of Western weapons. Russia is weak and outdated and probably drunk on vodka. And yes, Ukraine will get smashed, but it's absolutely embarrassing for Russia.

Haha, well, we're about to find out if that statement is true.

Because Russia has shutdown the Nordstream. They are going to do it.

I don't get it, do you think Russia needs "money"? For what? So they can wipe their asses with it, when our unaudited Federal Reserve pulls it out of their ass at will? The whole thing is a fucking scam, and I really don't know why Russia and China play along so much, maybe it's just because they're afraid of nuclear weapons, maybe their part of the scam now, but it's a scam.

Nobody needs US "dollars". They are an asset that can be created in unlimited quantities, and ARE created in unlimited quantities.

The question is, what does Europe produce Russia even WANTS, much less needs? If nothing, they shouldn't be trading their valuable resources for it. Just let Europe freeze to death, and it's Lebensraum for the Russian citizens, or maybe the Chinese.

People keep fixating on "money", what the fuck is money, other than a bunch of counterfeit bullshit that's created at will, at no cost.

It's ironic, ethnic Europeans continue bickering about Euro-Centric issues, this time Gas Prices, while the wave of immigrants from Middle East keep making baby Europeans.

Bit by bit, household by household.

Before we know it, Islamic Republics over there.

They’ll buy gas from China and India who got it from Russia. They’ll just pay four times more for it, enriching all three countries.
Brilliant!

What happens next is a depression. Inflation will level off once that sets in, but nobody will rejoice. It’s inevitable at this point.

Make note: I wasn’t a perma bear. I have made statements of faith in the good economy until just now. Now it’s all slipping sideways. It wasn’t an accident. This was planned. I honestly am not sure what could have turned inflation around other than another depression. If I see it, our dear leaders have as well. They’re just not going to admit that their policies are just them steering for the ditch so we don’t go off a fiscal cliff.

Haha, the only thing our leaders do is steer the population into a ditch.

We've been in 2 decades of endless war, the "war on terror". How has this helped the United States - IGNORE any morality in it, how has our nation been advantaged by this?

They've been purposely destroying this nation for decades. Wars are fought for many reasons, I think one of them, was to impoverish the United States. They've been fighting a war against US citizens for decades. Being against war isn't just being a bleeding heart liberal screaming that "killing people is bad", although it is, there's long term economic consequences for the nation that engages in it. Severe ones.

The problem with the United States, in my estimation, isn't just that morality has been abandoned, economic principles have been as well. Our nation has murdered something like 9 million people (take that with a grain of salt!) in the last 20 years - for what? How is our nation, or you, better off for this? 7 nations bombed, and if you're a typical person, you can't name those 7 nations, much less the expenditure - and none of these nations attacked the United States.

Traitors run the US now, they were running it for at least 20 years, probably at least 30 - maybe far longer. All of our wars, betrayed this nation both morally and financially. Enjoy the bed that was made for you, that you couldn't be bothered to pay attention to being made. People have been warning about this outcome for 2 decades, while being called traitor, Putin Puppet, coward, communist, whatever. Here's your bed your government built. Our criminal government built. See the enemy now? It's not me, it's in DC.

Haha, even if it is, the shoe fits doesn't it?

I don't have any FUCKING idea why Europe is allied with the United States. Europe's immigration problem is a direct result of US wars. None of the US wars have benefited Europe. I can't see how it's even conceivable that all the stupid shit that the US has done hasn't been designed to hurt Europe, and the United States.

No matter how much the US fuck's up, no matter how horrible the outcome, people just keep being promoted. Nobody gets fired for fucking up in the United States, they get promoted. The warden at the prison that Jeffrey Epstein "killed" himself at got promoted.

I wouldn't be surprised to see legitimate revolutions in Eastern Europe this winter.

Difficult to say who controls who. I suspect there's a power above both. US leaders don't act in US interests either.

Some people scream "The Jews", but I think that's a distraction as well. I don't see foreign policy actually being beneficial to Israeli citizens or the nation. If Israel acted on the behalf of their citizens, they'd be working for peace accords, and affirming peace through power. They would demand terms and conditions and forcibly hold to them, and fuck what the Palestinians want or the surrounding countries claim to desire.

Suck on this, Blyadimir!

DW:

German gas storage 90% full ahead of winter despite Russian cuts

German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said Germany has a chance of getting through the winter "comfortably" despite the lack of Russian gas. Germany is on track to meet a 95% storage capacity target by November.

Gas storage facilities in Germany are more than 90% full, according to data released by the Aggregated Gas Storage Inventory (AGSI), a European energy data platform.

The German government has planned for 95% of storage capacity to be filled by November. The storage is seen as essential for Germany to get through winter without Russian gas imports.

"If everything goes well, savings in Germany are high and if we have a bit of luck with the weather, we will have a chance at getting through the winter comfortably," Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Monday.
...
Germany also receives natural gas via pipelines from Norway, the Netherlands and Belgium. Over the weekend, Germany expects to sign contracts for the delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the United Arab Emirates.

France's energy regulator CRE said natural gas exports to Germany could start in October. Construction on one of Germany's new LNG terminals is also set to begin this week.

Not so sure about that. A heat wave can kill Europeans (like the 10,000 French who died during the heat wave awhile back), but Europeans are acclimated to cold. I doubt we will see Germans freezing to death.

Since most of the upper echelons of the Euroweenie governments are super pro-green energy, and beat everyone with the climate change denier label if they talk rationally about energy as well as most of the American elites ---- Then you'd have to say that all these idiots were on the Russian payroll.
33   socal2   2022 Sep 21, 12:31pm

What happens to Russia when Europe gets through this winter?

It will certainly be a rough and expensive winter for Europe, but they will get through it without massive death - and Russia will be stuck having purposefully lost their richest customers for decades to come.

Russia can only use energy as a weapon once. Europe is busy building floating LNG facilities to take US natural gas, they are keeping nuke plants operating and firing up old coal power plants to make up for the loss of Russian gas.

Even the Germans aren't retarded enough to go back to relying so heavily on Russian energy after all this bullshit.

Yeah - but they are all commodities that are impacted by demand. You think the shit-poor Africans and the Chinese are going to be paying a premium for energy and wheat like Europe would be doing?

Russia will certainly get some short term gain while Europe suffers over the next year, but I think Russia is killing themselves in the long term.

Until Germans start drilling deep under the Ruhr coal beds for natural gas (just like natural gas under the coal beds of Pennsylvania and OK/TX old oil fields), existing evidences seem to indicate that Europe is still run by puppets like Hitler and Napoleon, who were plucked out of obscurity to implement intentionally insane policies / wars in order to kill millions of people so that the banksters can have liabilities wiped off their books. So long as Germans have to import energy (due to deliberate policies preventing domestic production, like Green policies and anti-nuke policies), that import can be turned off and the savers can be frozen to death so that banksters never have to pay back the money.

China builds shit, and Russia provides energy to build shit. It's only the United States that still thinks the broken window theory is real.

Real war is nuclear annihilation. Nobody but an insane asshole thinks they can win that, unfortunately, we have a bunch of octogenarian insane assholes in control of this country. Mutually Assured Destruction is still in effect. Russia is still a nuclear super-power. How can you not realize this?

The Russian government has decided for the second time this year to raise tariffs for gas and housing and communal services for business and the population.

Gas tariffs for industry and citizens will increase by 8.5%, the Ministry of Economic Development told Interfax. This indexation will be a record one since 2013, when gas prices went up by 15% at once.

Electricity for Russians will rise in price by 9% and the tariff for network companies will increase by the same amount. At the same time, prices in bills for hot and cold water, heat and municipal solid waste will be indexed by the same 9%.
