AI isn't the panacea it's been marketed as.

It's VERY good at finding patterns and then applying an algorithm to duplicate that pattern. Feeding it bullshit, that's hard. With the truth, there's one story, with a lie, there's many stories.

I don't think an AI is ever going to be very good at being fed bad information and following an artificial and false pattern.

Basically, people who lie constantly, just think of them as insane. An AI that would have to lie constantly would also similarly be insane. This is why it's hard to control people, you have to constantly deceive them. AIs are driven by logic alone. Feed them bad data, and it results in entirely unpredictable results.
