Depends. It's soy sometimes, and another common one is seitan - which is wheat gluten. TVP is textured vegetable protein, which is soy but that can be passed for ground meat pretty easily.

Well, in my human laboratory of one self, eliminating refined sugars (where they can be identified), white wheat flours, various seed oils, margarine etc and shifting balance of ingest to more proteins, 'safe' oils, real butter and fats with low carbohydrates (preferably of 'natural' origins), I have naturally lost weight and signs are that my hormones are working better. Fats and oils don't make you fat, refined carbs do. Also, increased vit D intake.

This means there were some agents, possibly working in combination, in those items that toxify the pituitary and/or adrenal/androgen axis. Weight loss without formal caloric dieting means that my basal metabolic rate has increased. Testosterone utilization has likely improved, hair has grown back in spots and become thicker.

Of course, these things have been identified by various holistic types. However, since science and government have betrayed us into toxicity, with purpose it seems, it is hard to isolate cause and effect. GMO's with baleful genes? Combination metabolic inhibitors that require a few different items to work? Who knows. It's all up in the air again as far as I am concerned.

Find a relatively local cattle farmer and local vegetable growers; tour their facilities and sample their products, then make a commitment to locally-sourced agriculture. After a near life-ending accident, I developed trauma-induced Celiac disease. I had to forsake all gluten, sugars, and anything artifical. I pretty much had to go Paleo - nothing but red meat and tubers.

Once I recovered and the Celiac symptoms largely went away, I still maintained the new diet. Humanely-raised pastured beef is one of the best foods a body can eat. This is the food that nourished humans for the past 300,000 years. The saturated fat from 100% grass-fed ruminants is rich in all the micronutrients that we need - it's also high in omega-3 and low in omega-6 inflammatory fatty acids. Feed your bodies what they are designed to digest. Fuck this soy/artificial shit.

I wondered if I had mild, subclinical celiac disease/gliadin wheat allergy (sprue), which could affect such things. I am more inclined, however, to suspect that the MKUltra types have identified metabolic and hormonal poison concoctions that they have interleaved into the common food sources, mostly carb based. Seed oils I gather develop toxicity released through being heated for cooking, not because the seeds are inherently toxic or non nutritious.

More fucking shit to be paranoid about, but at least I have a direction for nutritional based progress. One of my buds in Santa Cruz is far ahead of me in the nutrition stuff, so I pick his brains when we talk.

I wonder if bison meat would be even better,

You may want to re-word that.

That I do not.

Just look at Asian women they retain a very nubile figure well into their middle age. While many wester women after 30, start to look like a burlap sack stuffed with horseshoes.
Though I don't believe Soy additives would work as well as all of the food they eat made with Soy Beans. Bean Curd, Soft Tofu, hard tofu, dried ribbon tofu, bean cakes, fermented bean... ect.
