The UK TV license tax is "Hyopthecated taxation", set by law in Parliament, and therefore the BBC is government funded.

Yeah, just like the Royal Family don't own Fleet Street or the Courts, they are entirely staffed by an impartial people's executive.

Absolutely.

I remember they had guys riding around in vans detecting who was watching TV while not paying the tax.

At first I thought it was a Monty Python joke but they were real.

I don't see how they could detect a television. Does it give off a signal different from a CRT monitor?

Reminds me of the old Young Ones comedy bits: https://youtu.be/TYJv0pIy2UQ?t=120

In Canada, the CBC is also a state funded propaganda outlet. To the tune of about $1B per year to the taxpayers.

Imagine that, paying for an organization to lie to you and attempt to manipulate you.

That's our government in the United States.

Find that weapons of mass destruction program in Iraq yet?

The vans can detect demodulation. The van will periodically visit addresses that have not bought the TV license. Radio (except in cars) also require a license.

Musk is live on the BBC right now. They're doing their best to assassinate his character in response to his correctly indicating they are State Funded Media, right down to their hypothecated annual license fee attached to every television operated in the UK which is set and enforced by Parliament specifically for the support of the BBC. The equivalent of having a mandatory CPR (the master public private monstrosity in charge of NPR/PBS) fee annually for every radio or tv in the USA explicitly to support it.

4/17 would have been a better date (Patriots Day, third monday in April)

I can't believe they had the balls to try to do a Cancel Hit interview on him. They sent a clueless amature, and ended up looking like a damn fool. He just came to hurl baseless accusations and insults at Elon. But he didn't expect to get called and ask for examples and facts to back up his labels.
It back fired on Elon not doing enough to stop Misinformation on Twitter, the interviewer couldn't give one example when pressed. The tried to cop out saying he doesn't go to Twitter, then tried to cover the disconnect by saying "not in weeks". OK but that means you were there and saw hateful content, give one example. He then pivoted to Covid Misinformation. Boy was that a big mistake.

He go the fuck owned!

Elon I'm willing to be your Puppet President, since you can't run for President. If Biden gets to do that for Xi and Soros, then I can do it for Elon!

I find it a little amusing that NPR, or really any of the legacy propaganda media thinks they are wanted at all.

What really killed Youtube was the constant unrelenting promotion of propaganda on that site in the form of MSNBC, Fox, etc and the removal of actual information sources. Rumble is now a better site in my opinion, simply because none of the legacy propaganda is on there. Nobody wants to see that shit.

Monopolized Media: 'A dragon's breath of deception that howls with a hurricane wind in a single direction'.
