Blinding headlights are growing problem on US roads https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0nBlZwUT3s

"If you ever drive at night, there’s a good chance you’ve noticed an increasing problem with blinding headlights. In some cases, people are simply driving around with their high beams on, but that doesn’t fully explain the problem. Anyone who’s flashed their lights at an oncoming driver to let them know their high beams are on, only to get hit with their actual high beams can tell you that. One thing is for sure, though — it’s not a good thing." https://jalopnik.com/you-re-not-imagining-it-blinding-headlights-are-a-real-1850112863

LED's are really bad for you on the white/blue end of the spectrum. We don't notice as much due to heavily tinted windows, but it's fucking annoying. And last time I went to Home Depot, couldn't find any of the normal light bulbs anymore.

I went in a Dumpling restaurant next to the Asian grocery store I was at yesterday. They had about 40 dangling pendent lights in the place, and yet the place was so dim(the black walls didn't help), that I couldn't read their black menu with purple writing. So I just left without buying anything. I miss the good ole days, when there was just one overhead light in the room, and you could read anything on anything anywhere in the room at anytime, from the light of just that one light.

I left when I realized the place was probably so dim, they didn't want their customer to notice that they are selling the frozen cheap ass thin skinned pot stickers from the freezer out of the store next door.

Completely banned now as of this year due to Potatus Proclamation. I bought some of the last incandescences for fun but have them stashed away for special occasions. From Lowes though.

Just because the person inside such a vehicle needs to see the road brighter

Thing is, they insist on seeing a giant puddle of white light on the road in front of the car instead of insisting on seeing objects on the road and around it. It's pretty comical actually: an average person is usually unnerved with old-style halogen headlights and feel much better after so-called fog lights are switched along with them, because they light up that scary void right in front of the bumper which is there when old style halogen headlights are set up properly. =))

I have couple of cars with oft-maligned H4 headlights and this is what happens when somebody accustomed to these newfangled LED lights gets to drive them: "OMG, the light is so horrible, I can't see anything. -- Switch on the fogs. -- Yay, so much better! -- But these are foglights, they don't light up anything you need to see at normal driving speeds. -- I don't care, it's just BETTER".
