I think that word has been corrupted and misused like many words are nowadays...I think the correct word is male chauvinist.. def: a man who believes that women are naturally less intelligent, or able than men. Misogynist: a man who hates women or believes that men are much better than women.
I think lots of men think women are idiots but don't necessarily hate them.
