Is cost of living really coming down or is it just some propaganda designed to cover money printing and to justify 0 increase in social security payments?

And what about that article about Obama's tax liabilities? It's a hint that taxes will increase. "See? Even I get hit hard with taxes too. It's not only the middle class that gets hit. I take a hit too."

I have a question regarding this issue. Which came first? The high wages or the high cost of living?

Kind like the chicken and egg question. Unemployment is reducing wages, therefore, reducing cost of living?

So in turn, employers recognized the higher cost of living and increased wages I presume.
It'd be awkward to recognize that cost of living is coming down, so they will lower salary. So instead, they lay off, and wait till conditions get better and pay someone half the price to do the job. I really think this is the case with the unemployment issue.

Yes, it is for real. I got this from my friend, and it’s so funny and true not to share.
EVERY CITIZEN NEEDS TO READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS JOURNALIST HAS scriptED IN THIS MESSAGE. READ IT AND THEN REALLY THINK ABOUT OUR CURRENT POLITICAL DEBACLE.

545 vs. 300 MILLION — By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them..
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red ..
If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ, it’s because they want them in IRAQ
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.

Two nights ago, John Stewart did a montage of every president since Nixon singing the Energy song. Each with different angles, takes and agendas, but still saying the same thing.

That made me think, how come official video Archives from the Propaganda ministry has such meticulous indexing. But in Washington today they couldn't find a foot, if it was up their butts.

I think costs are coming down because debt is being unwound. Companies have to service their debt, which pulls money from the economy. This liquidity being extracted by debt service, shrinks the overall money supply. This reduction in money supply causes the banks to run into a liquidity crisis and balance their books(have more money in reserve). Strange that paying your debt would cause the banks more problems than getting new debt. Thoughts?

Maybe this is splitting hairs, but is it that the politicians "want" these things, or is it simply that they can't support unpopular decisions or decisions that their benefactors won't like.

Same difference I guess. Either way, it's not a very good system when big changes are necessary.

The major protests were before we lost 4000+ KIA, thousands more horribly wounded, and the hundreds of billions of borrowed dollars spent.

The conservatives got the war in Iraq they wanted but it's pretty much run down now, 200 KIA over the past 18 months.

Afghanistan is something of a different story. There is some dissent still since we have not begun to remove our presence there.

I believe this is because we have a cataclysmic event unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico currently that is destroying the economy and ecology of the Gulf States and will possibly spread onto the East Coast. This is to say nothing about the many species who will go extinct in the next few months as a direct result of gross and malicious negligence on the part of Big Oil and the pawns they pay for in our government.

What do you mean unpopular? People voted for change, then why don’t you give them change?

Popular is a relative word. Often what matters is what's popular with your base. Or with the people who funded you. If a republican thought that something Obama was doing was worth supporting, it wouldn't matter. His base say NO !! And his financial supporters indirectly tell him he will be replaced if he doesn't follow orders. Again, I was splitting hairs with the observation that it isn't about what the politicians want.
