I'm watching CNN. The libs are getting hammered. I guess playing the race card didn't work all that well for them.

IF somebody asks you, I would refrain from even trying to explain what you're saying here about the "race card," because the best you could do is come out sounding like an idiot.

I had to vote Republican all across the board today. I didn't want to, but all of the other party candidates aren't allowed to be listed by their party. Since I can't be sure what party or principals the "NA" party is, I had to go with the party I thought was better than this.

Now that the Liberal Bubble broke, perhaps the Libs may learn a lesson, that while they think they are smarter than everyone else, and want govern in those they Deem Ignorant's proxy. doensn't mean the dumb, dull and ignorant want them to.
Because as you can plainly see, while we spend 20 cents in two dimes to bypass a 10 dollar fuse, on a million dollar house, or 2K motor home, and can't always tell by the wording of the measures, just what in the hell the issue really is they are voting for.
They can still Vote, Because in the Country the United States of Ehmericuh!

We can still Vote, and Vote on every single measure on the Ballot where those that are consistently on the crappy end of the political stick, try to distort democracy for their favor, at every one else expense.
And we can always put someone else in that can do for me, instead of somebody that is trying to do for me when I didn't ask them to.

Yes. Or you can use that kind of reasoning to cover the emotion and ego that are behind WHAT YOU FEEL.

As others have noted here recently, Obama's health care plan was much like what Romney proposed and much like what republicans suggested nearly 20 years ago. It wasn't half as liberal as what Nixon wanted to do.

Face it, for you and most of your dishonest hateful brethren, it's about "my team against your team," and it's about ignorance and emotion. Nothing else.

I wonder if South Park will res erect the 2008 election loser cast and if they will go over to Stan Marshes house and yell...

"Looser! Looser! Looser!"

Hey you know what this night needs, Idiots driving around town Blowing their horn all night.

Maybe the Democrats should have beet Tweeting their peeps for the last two years, at least make them feel appreciated for their Patsyship. Or I know, maybe King Lib shouldn't have held a rally, that drew most of the liberal base 1000's of miles from their home and voting district, 4 days before election.

It's kind of hard to follow the Dead, and get back in time for midterm papers, let alone an insignificant election.

Republi-crats or Demi-cans, not a nickel's worth of difference.
Change is an illusion offered by both sides.
They both serve the same master.
Both are responsible for the sad economy and silly foreign wars.
You pay, they play.

10   Â¥   2010 Nov 2, 12:45pm

There are differences. All the religious nutballs on the (R) side scare the crap out of me.

Opposing ObamaCare when it's THE SAME FUCKING THING they wanted in 1993 is another.

Republicans/conservatives are just entirely full of it on nearly everything.

Democrats are more passively stupid. Little of what they've done has floated my boat, but the whole TP angle 'let's go back to the 19th century' is just unbelievable.

The sheer amount of hoohaw this country believes and the ignorance this is creating is just staggering. The split here is 80/20 Republican.

Just to be clear here, I've never been a fan of the Government and Corporate care sleeping in the same Space Suit.

I am for even paying more taxes and having an all out Federal Medical system from the School to the Hospital. Where kids of all class backgrounds can study to be Doctors and Nurses and it not put them in 30 years of debt. And you never see a premium or hospital bill.

We act like it takes super rich spoiled kids that were sent to Ivy League schools, are the only human beings capable of administering medical prowess. Where there are Doctors in Latin America and India that their Bicycle is their prized possession.

Americans need to get off their Lazy damn asses and Work for a living and quit shorting the necessities that constitute the quality of life. Like energy commodities, health care services, and Food commodities.

Put your money in the bank and put this silly notion that you can be insured and make your retirement from the very stock that provides your health care.

How any self respecting person of common sense, can't see the conflict of that, then Democrats will be doomed to Marching on their dicks, every 8 to 10 years trying to run this smelly corporate boon sham on the American people. It's the biggest breach of democracy ever perpetrated by any party in this country.

The optimal word next time will be, "National Health Care system" you know the one Clinton promised.

12   nope   2010 Nov 2, 12:56pm

Don't worry, the republicans won't have the balls to change the healthcare legislation, cut medicare, cut social security, or cut the military.

My guess is that they'll do a bunch of grandstanding, and mostly not accomplish anything for the next two years.

The good news is that the inflation that must happen is going to make the recession appear to go away, at least on paper. It'll take care of most of the debt problems too.

13   Done!   2010 Nov 2, 1:26pm

There's nothing else I need to explain to you, because this isn't about quantifying how bad Clinton, Bush or Obama sucked any more or less. This is about an morally inept Party that Hijacked the Democracy using the youth and clueless to get that power, then expecting them to not even watch, let alone participate. On the flipside of this infringement of your liberty to be a dumbass we got requirements that 85% of premiums have to go to care.

This mandate stuff is also groundwork for no rescission and no preexisting condition limitations.

It's not that big a deal. Back in 1993 some very conservative Republican senators cosponsored something almost identical.

Sometimes losing liberty is a good deal for everyone, ya know?

They opposed it because it was just as bad as what was proposed in 1993, from what I recall.

There's nothing really "bad" about ACA. Assuming you want more people covered, this is how you have to do it if you can't get single-payer / the "public option".

This was acknowledged in 1993, what Romney got passed in MA.

It's just been demagogued to death by the professional and amateur liars on the right like you.

I read the legislation…it’s bad. What I mean by ‘bad’ is ‘it is written by fools who don’t take into consideration the effects it has on people’s behavior in response’.

Please disprove the above facts that I just mentioned, for starters.

All your facts above show that the current system is fucked by politics and demagoguing. The McDonalds thing being a primary example. They still haven't evaded the 80% MLR requirement, that will take further bullshitting by your side to accomplish apparently.

As for tort reform,

http://prescriptions.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/31/would-tort-reform-lower-health-care-costs/

29   Â¥   2010 Nov 3, 4:23am

And I note you don’t dispute what I said about healthy people paying the the fine instead of getting the insurance. W/o that, ObamaCare as designed is fucked and you know it.

No, it just means higher premiums for people in coverage, and higher subsidies for people who can't afford it.

Good is better than perfect. In a rational system of governance, legislation would be amended to address problems.

Of course, we're pretty fucking far from rationality right now.

if you don’t fix the Third Party Payer Problem

Getting more people into the system and getting care will help somewhat. If this were an actual functioning process we'd then have the opportunity to look at what Japan, Canada, and the other Eurosocialists are doing to keep their costs in line.

30   Â¥   2010 Nov 3, 4:57am

shrekgrinch says

How could we fund social security outlays for today’s retirees if people were given the option to not pay in in their working years but pay a cheaper fine instead? Same thing.

Seniors are already covered by medicare. I also don't have a problem with higher insurance rates across the board for covered people. I didn't carry any insurance from age 25-30, but I don't think the young should bear a disproportionate burden. Everyone, ideally, should pay the rates of their insured group. It'd be great to extend this to include incentives for physical fitness, like the Japanese are starting to try to do.

Hence why the third party payer problem is so big and will continue to be.

The third party payer is a boon in Japan, Canada, Australia, NZ, Sweden, Norway, France, Germany. I believe the Dutch actually have a semi-privatized health insurance system with highly regulated insurance providers, similar to what ACA is going to do I guess.

they don't actually. the current medical system here has generally been designed to fix existing problems or to cover it up with drugs. its shifting and more preventative actions are happening as insurance companies see its a good investment but for the longest time the insurance companies focused on ignoring or denying problems until they became an unavoidable issue.

You don't have many friends who are doctors do you? I know an eye doctor/surgeon who orders a brain scan if a patient even mentions headaches. Why? Even if he thinks it is just a vision/eye issue, he orders the scan because he's afraid of getting sued. He might even get sued years down the road - he has to cover his ass because of the ambulance chasers. When he told me this a few years ago, the number of issues uncovered in the multitude of scans was a big fat zero. So, instead of using all of his knowledge and skill acquired in the multiple years of medical school, he's making a medical decision based on what a lawyer might do to him later.
