Is the Fed trying to prick the bubble?

I suspect the Fed is behind much of the stories about reconsidering mortgage interest deduction. (If they were really serious about it, they would stop deductions on interest for second (and third…) homes. I think this is basically a made up story, trying to inject a little caution into potential homebuyers who have trouble reading the writing on the wall.

"That’s just it! Its real and just because I have a somewhat tweeaked delivery, nobody believes me. Especially you. Tragic. The HORROR… Sad sad sad… "

You're like the boy who cried SPHUH!

42   Jamie   2005 Nov 3, 2:38am

We never know when you're serious...I would guess because you are NEVER serious.

43   Jamie   2005 Nov 3, 2:45am

"I am literally running up and down the stairs to wipe pen off the walls and then come up to the computer to post. Is this devotion or what? "

Ah, the joys of owning a two-year-old.

My daughter is that crazy age too.

44   Jamie   2005 Nov 3, 2:46am

"No, its not like serious or not serious. Its two sides of the same emoticon. "

Huh?

45   Jamie   2005 Nov 3, 2:47am

Oh, crap. I've pissed away an hour of work time serving the SPHUH. And now I really need to get some work done!

Sphuh for now.

46   Jamie   2005 Nov 3, 12:56pm

LOL! I'm not mad. I can't believe you guys have had a whole conversation about me being mad. Such caring on this thread. I'm so glad there are people concerned about my well-being. ;-)

I was just joking about the uneven number thing, newsfreak. Really! Do I seem like the kind of person who would get my panties in a wad about someone messing up 2020 or whatever it was? I mean, I was the person who messed up 2020, wasn't I?

Annnyway, I have no idea what you were ranting about above, Jack.

All this confusion! all because I'm not using enough smiley faces!

:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

47   Jamie   2005 Nov 3, 1:28pm

Jack is kind of volatile, newsfreak. You never know what crazy thing will set him off.

Sensitive artiste.

48   Jamie   2005 Nov 3, 1:30pm

I just asked him to change his name back because I really was forgetting who he was. I was somehow confusing him with seattledude or someone. I actually forgot about that whole Mr. Right/Surfer X battle, because I fled the thread when it happened.

49   Jamie   2005 Nov 3, 1:31pm

Oh, I forgot, smiley faces:

:-) :-) :-) :-)

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Well, the "substance" thread took it to the "jaberwocky" thread today, huh?
I think I spent too much time on this stuff today...now I'll need to go into work tomorrow to make up for it. stupdid!stupid!stupid!

51   SJ_jim   2005 Nov 4, 2:53pm

Not that jabberwocky isn't substantial... :)

52   SJ_jim   2005 Nov 4, 3:00pm

"Jabberwocky". One of those words that's fun to say. But then if you keep saying it, it begins to sound foreign. Then, you start having a hard time pronouncing it...your mouth just starts seizing up on you. Or is that just me? Kind of like "marshmallow."

53   SJ_jim   2005 Nov 4, 3:20pm

Hey, now, jabberwocky has a much more positive connotation than...ahhh, drivel, for example. Plus, jabberwocky is most certainly a skill--perhaps even a gift...I often find myself lacking in the ability to jabberwock. :(

54   SJ_jim   2005 Nov 4, 4:53pm

Yes the blog time stamp is screwed up. I'm posting this at exactly 12:04 AM...

55   SJ_jim   2005 Nov 4, 4:54pm

...and it stamped it as 12:53 AM. So, about 50 minutes ahead.

56   SJ_jim   2005 Nov 4, 5:08pm

How does this happen with today's tek-nolo-g?
Kind of like earlier tonight...my friend called my cell phone from his cell phone, and instead got some financial-type business. He asked her what the # was & it was (of course) a different number in a different area code. He called me again & it got through. An hour later, he called me & got the same business that he'd gotten earlier....

57   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 12:50am

I'm here! But not.

There's something about this new home in the prick thread. Bad feng shui or something. Or maybe the gluttony it took to reach Huh 2000 has left me feeling like, well, a glutton.

Or maybe it's reading that new thread, which made my brain feel fuzzy and stale, like an old M&M stuck in the couch, for reasons I can't quite explain.

Regardless, I'll try to check in frequently, but for the next weeks I imagine I'll be around less often. We're doing a long weekend trip next weekend to San Diego, and I've got a book due in 5 weeks. Must crack the whip.

Sphuh for now.

Hah! Lots of LOL on this one...maybe cause I know what you mean!

Well at least you guys nicely transitioned from Huh to Sphuh...I was fading fast when that was occurring. :(

60   SJ_jim   2005 Nov 5, 5:04am

161 comments? What is that?

Hmmm...shameful?

61   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 12:07pm

"Well at least you guys nicely transitioned from Huh to Sphuh…I was fading fast when that was occurring."

Yeah, what's up with that, SJ Jim? Is this because of the illness? Or because you feel like you should like, have a social life outside your computer or something? Getting too good for us shed dwellers?

What do you want to bet Jack is in his shed tonight with the walking stick?

62   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 12:07pm

Er, I meant talking stick. Maybe he's walking the talking stick.

63   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 12:12pm

'Perhaps we have to get over nostalgia for the “Best thread ever” before we can see what this new thread can even be. Its like starting a new painting. At first it feels sterile, or disconnected, or artificial comared to the one you were so immersed in just before"

Okay, okay. I'll buy that.

So is this like performance art? Or is it some new art form? A fusion of words and bytes and human interaction? An internet installation piece?

64   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 1:27pm

Jack and his rantings and ravings...

65   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 1:29pm

At some point, it seems to me, the freakish number of posts Huh could take on will serve as a draw to onlookers. Like a train wreck, and they'll be willing to wait for the reload just to see what all the hubbub is about. I prefer a bit more anonymity.

But, since Huh hasn't died yet...

66   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 1:30pm

I do like that idea of unreachability though...

67   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 1:34pm

"I like the level of sheer PAIN involved in posting, and how it might transform and or “fuse” with the experience of trying to communicate in this context?"

You're a masochist, aren't you?

"“Huh?” as “Shed”? "

Do you really want all that Sphuh in your shed?

68   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 1:36pm

So is your shed wired yet? Are you actually participating in the Huh-as-shed thread FROM the shed?

69   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 1:54pm

Behave yourself over there on my writing blog!

70   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 1:56pm

Doesn't this thread feel kind of musty or something?

Or dank. I love that word, dank.

71   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 1:57pm

LOL, I can always DELETE you. Oh the power of running a blog.

72   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 1:57pm

Just joking.

73   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 1:59pm

Oh, so my poor pitiful no-one comments blog needs my friends to "create interest?" LOL, I should just turn off the comments option. It's sad really, how few people actually comment. And they're all people who know me.

74   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 2:04pm

I'm such a dummy, I registered for this site back when HARM put out a call for everyone to post a thread, but then I forgot I was supposed to ask for a password, I guess? So I can't log on. Well, I can never think of serious thread topics anyway. I'd just want to post something like "If you're going to park your wad somewhere, where would you park it?"

75   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 2:05pm

I think my mom reads my blog, and my husband does, but much of my family has only just discovered the internet and is still marveling over Ebay, and instant messaging, and stuff. They have not discovered blogs.

76   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 2:05pm

Forgot to say, hi SQT!

77   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 2:07pm

I started a family blog and no one visits it, LOL.

78   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 2:08pm

Just be careful not to shoot your wad on the wrong, um, investment...Property.

79   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 2:09pm

But it's okay, Jack, you should not feel inhibited from posting to my blog--just don't do any pity postings. That's just...humiliating. LOL.

80   Jamie   2005 Nov 5, 2:11pm

Yeah, I hear you SQT. When we first moved to Germany, my husband deployed to Bosnia, and no one ever freaking called! I guess they figured the occasional email was enough.
