I had an uncle who was a gifted drummer who also happened to be partial to the bongo drums. He and Matthew McConaughey could have partied since my uncle was also fond of the bong.

Just an incidental aside since bongo drums were mentioned....

Anyway, gotta scoot. Just wanted to check in and make sure 2000 didn't happen without me.

925   Jamie   2005 Nov 1, 3:09am

Jack, i don't think you're at any great risk of missing SPHUH 2000. Haven't you noticed yet that all major posting flurries occur in your presence? Hmm? Could there be a link?

I also made a serious contribution to the new thread. Well, really it was just a "me too" post, clearly a lazy attempt to maintain appearances, and really what's the point when I've got all this SPHUH everywhere...under the carpet, on my clothes, in my hair. HOW did it get in my hair?!

926   Jamie   2005 Nov 1, 3:10am

Keep control of that talking stick!

927   Jamie   2005 Nov 1, 3:10am

Ahhh, 1717, a nice balanced number. Now I can work in peace.

928   Jamie   2005 Nov 1, 10:27am

"I think Jamie claimed there is no action without you"

Three girls do not a proper menage make.

929   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 2:09pm

sphuhlinking.

So instead of cave diving it would be...........Oh I don't want to know.

I don't know of anyway to embed a thread that isn't in chronological order. Patrick could probably do it, but do we really want to go to him an say "Can we um, you know, write a thread that has nothing to do with housing and um, put it where no one else will notice it? Why? Because we like goofing around on your blog. Sound reasonable to you?"

930   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 2:20pm

Hows the twix hangover SQT?

I woke up today and decided to use the "hair of the dog" strategy to recover. But I find that Kit Kat's are the poison of choice today.

Re: Patrick

I keep hoping he isn't lurking on the "huh" thread too much. Talk about not respecting us tomorrow.

931   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 2:24pm

Does it take forever for your page to refresh when you post on Huh?

Yup. I play Mah Jongg while I wait for it to refresh.

932   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 2:30pm

Just as well we start formulating some kind of plan for the future…Or are you really feeling uneasy about all this silliness? I hope its not really seriously worrisome for you…

I find the silliness refreshing right now. I can understand why so many people accuse us of doom and gloom. Some days I can hardly stand the dire Great Depression part II predictions people throw out. Personally I think the fed will move Heaven and Earth to prevent that from happening. I guess you could call me a moderate bear.

The silliness is a good way to decompress and I like the people I have met here. I wouldn't keep coming back just to talk about housing. But I am motivated to come back to talk to the regulars on the "huh" thread.

933   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 2:33pm

I dont even want to ask what Mah Jongg is…. LOL

It's a chinese (I think) tile game that you can play on the computer. I'm addicted.

934   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 2:39pm

By the way, I dont even KNOW what I mean half the time when I make wisecracks.

No wonder the proverbial line gets crossed sometimes. I wonder what Jamie's excuse is?

935   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 2:47pm

Are you looking for a new thread that is not housing related? I can post one but I am not sure what you're looking for.

936   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 2:50pm

Sheesh SQT, still awake? More Kit Kat!

Huh?

937   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 2:55pm

One of us might need to bite the bullet and create our own blog page (mabe on Surfer-X's site) the only problem is that I think you have to register to post. I'll have to look around and see if there are any other create-your-own blog sites that don't require registration.

But I don't know if it's worth the bother. It might just be easier to do another pointless thread. But you know, we could all agree to switch to the "new thread" since I don't think it has too many posts. It's more or less dead and I doubt others would be inclined to jump in since it isn't the newest thread.

938   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 2:58pm

Are you not seeing my posts? I'm confused.

939   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:00pm

Ok, you want to be President and I will become Secratery and fondling member?

New blog? Or just jump to "new thread?"

940   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:03pm

By the way, if the blog ever gets dumped abruptly, PeterP has my email address. Just in case you ever want to send me hate mail or anything…

Hate mail.....as if! (valley girl mode)

Should we jump threads or should we wait for Jamie? I'm sure she'll read this and jump over anyway. But, I want to be polite and all....

941   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:06pm

yeah, lets wait and give her a chance to object at least…

Sounds good. Gives me more opportunities to play Mah Jongg. ;)

942   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:08pm

The dream lives on! 2000 or die trying.....

Ok, I'm not willing to go that far....

943   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:10pm

Mah Jongg …there is a joke in there somewhere, I just know it! Is that the one wiith the chunks of squares that drop down from the top and stack up until you are in “deep shit”?

No, that's Tetris. Another favorite in the day.

Funny thing is that I have no interest in video games AT ALL. But give me a quiet, simple, old school computer game, and I get addicted.

944   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:14pm

You poor founding member I think you need a refresher course at the Bob Ross Institute for Post Halloween burnout…

Am I that boring tonight? Maybe I should call it quits for now and rest up for the next round.

945   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:18pm

I think I'll head downstairs for a twix. Maybe a butterfinger would be better though..

Peanut butter for energy.

946   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:22pm

I didnt mean to imply you were not any fun, you just seemed a lot more low key than usual. I pictured you sitting there watching the things drop in the game is all

Yeah, finding it hard to maintain the comedic edge tonight.

Though I did grab a reese's cup for maximum peanut butter protien burst.

Oops, my son is crying I may have to go....Give me a second to see if I can settle him down.

947   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:36pm

Got the little dude settled down. He needed a milk fix to get things right with the world.

Hey, anyone hear anything from Surfer-X lately? I'm worried he hasn't been around. That little Fucher has really got the X-man down these days.

948   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:44pm

Oh, I got the 1800 post. Time to do the crazy miner dance.

Yeah, the X-man lost his cool. He reminds me of one of my brothers. My bro seems like the most tempermental guy. But the truth is he wears his heart on his sleeve, and he takes it really hard when his feelings are hurt. He's also more sentimental than the rest of us combined. I don't know if this describes Surfer, but I think it might come close.

949   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:46pm

I think Surfer probably just needs time to deal with the cat situation. If that cat doesn't come back, God help us.

950   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:53pm

Yeah, don't want to analyze Surfer too much. He's his own man and he'll tell us what's going on when he's ready. Hopefully the damn cat is home and Surfer is just in the throes of a happy cat homecoming. At least I hope so.

951   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:54pm

You know SactoQT, I LET you have that 1800th post on purpose. I could have taken it myself ya know…. but noooooooooooooooo. I wanted YOU to have it. BIG of me wasnt it?

We'll start calling you Saint Jack.

952   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 3:55pm

If I tell my husband I am the fondling member, I am in big trouble.

953   SQT15   2005 Nov 1, 4:00pm

I have my “early day but only a half day” day tomorrow. And I have to get up at the ungodly hour of 4 40AM (at least its not 420 surfer x!) So I should probably give it up for tonight too..

Ok, have a good night.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be in better form. No more candy, the withdrawls are a bitch.

"One of us might need to bite the bullet and create our own blog page (mabe on Surfer-X’s site) the only problem is that I think you have to register to post."

Blogger has settings that allow you to choose your own level of security. Unfortunately blogs get attacked by spam so that's why a lot of people have it set so you have to register to post. I think I have my writing one currently set so that anyone can post (you can test it out if you know how to find it..heh-heh).

Don't tempt us Jamie, it could get ugly.

956   Peter P   2005 Nov 2, 3:50am

In my dream last night, I envisioned the return of Mr. Fuchs.

957   Jamie   2005 Nov 2, 6:28am

LOL, newsfreak, I don't really write pulp fiction, per se. That was just my affectionate code word.

Ummm, I'm trying to figure out a way to direct you to my blog without completely giving up my last shred of anonymity...and I can't think of anything. :-P I tried googling the name of my blog but it's not the same as the url so unfortunately it just brought up a bunch of weird crap.

958   Jamie   2005 Nov 2, 6:30am

"Jamie, are you sure you want to do that? By the way, I tried to leave a post, and it wanted me to register."

Even if you post as "Anonymous?" there should be that option.

But you guys have a point...maybe I don't wany my blog descending to this level of depravity. :-P

959   Jamie   2005 Nov 2, 6:31am

"And one other thing…I am going to have to ask you to resign as Vice- President of SPHUH if this blatant disreguard for meetings continues… "

Sorry for shirking my duties...I just caught a cold and am feeling kind of run-down.

960   Jamie   2005 Nov 2, 6:32am

"wany "

Um, that was suppposed to read "want."

961   Jamie   2005 Nov 2, 6:33am

"without completely giving up my last shred of anonymity"

To the whole blog, I meant.

962   Jamie   2005 Nov 2, 6:34am

Assuming any intrepid souls are still even reading Huh.

963   Jamie   2005 Nov 2, 7:39am

"I almost posted something rude to seattledude, so I came here instead."

Such restraint! Jack will be in awe.

Dude should change his screen name to Negative Ned.
