God I wish I lived in India! Not only can you buy single smokes, you can buy a degree there! No student loan BS, just one nice and fair upfront fee.

I was hoping a more nuanced reply, but alas all I got was a sarcasm filled post. With all the endemic corruption in Indian society, I will not be surprised if there are people who are buying degrees. But can these people survive in Global economy ? Can they build good machines or be good doctors. Can they compete in the market place ? No they cannot. So I am not sure what point you are trying to make. It is no different than buying a house on liar loan and then not being able to pay one's mortgage :-).

Apparently the real reason for not allowing people to sell single cigarettes is all about money. Tobacco companies give up revenues and also if you sell people a pack of 20 it is more likely they will remain hooked longer.

All I was pointing out the selective morality practiced in this country, which comes from the hypocrisy of mixing capitalism and religion to come up with a strange concoction - the USA. Example: You can go to nudie bars and get a lapdance, in essence watch vagina in 3-D and on media all day, but prostitution is illegal. Why ? Because perverts are good business ?

Earning money is not the same as worshiping money. People earn money in most other countries of the world too.

Alright. Enough Ranting. I am taking the next plane to Amsterdam, where not only I can fuk legally, I can also go across the border to Germany and drive legally at as much as my car would allow. After that I will hop on a plane to go to Brazil and enjoy mixing with most laid back people and nice beaches. And just when I am old enough to die, I will go to India and practice some meditation and learn about afterlife.
And the rest of you, you work your ass off and make sure everything is finished by the next earnings announcement :-).

I'm sure there must be 100s of little stores in the US that will sell individual cigarettes. All it takes is an entrepreneurial merchant who figures that if he opens a pack and sells individual cigarettes, he will be able to sell enough to more than cover the cost of the entire twenty before the remainder go stale.

Watching porn all day might be pretty unhealthy, but I'm not convinced it's unhealthy all together. I wonder how many men make it through really tough higher education, such as med school with a little help from porn. This must be true in india too, no ? For those who aren't currently in love, or in a serious relationship, there are times when the real thing is just more trouble than it's worth.
