It's a nice thought, and it might help in a democracy, but we're talking about America here.
Write to your Senator's corporate owners instead. They bought him, so they own him. That's where the power really is.
This is the letter I wrote to my senator and representative regarding NDAA. I figured if I don't do my part in defending our rights than I'm not doing my part. If you support the spirit of this letter please send to your senator as well.
Dear [Senator],
I'm writing to you to ask you to propose a bill to repeal NDAA provision that allows for indefinite detention of American citizens.
NDAA indefinite detention conflicts with our bill of rights, and it is very dangerous. The myriad of ways in which this can be abused against Americans is staggering. And such loss of liberty shouldn't be rationalized away or ignored in the name of false sense of security. Nation without rights is not the nation I want to leave for my children.
