The "center" is now what the right used to be. The major parties are just two slightly different sides of the same, corporatist coin in a crony capitalist system.

The Right are supposed to lean right and the Left leans left, when that distinction gets blurred, then we end up with people like Bush and Obama running things.
I prefer both parties stick true to their parties ideology, that way we can tell who's who. But that part of our system is dead, and Mr. Napolitano is right.
