Anytime there is a scented candle, incense or those horrible artificial smelling scented deodorizers it's an indication of a problem. And fountains or other white noise producers are sometimes used to mask traffic sounds. With any luck that smell in the kitchen is just an ex husband buried a little shallowly and not something really bad.
We also visited this house. House seems to be in good shape and there were not many touch ups required. However the listing price was too high. I believe a price of $330K would be fair for this market in current market conditions. The backyard is spacious and good to host any patio party. Since this property is right across the school so in morning we anticipated huge traffic which was big No for us.

Good point. I was just thinking of the short walk to school.
I went to the open house on 3/31/12.
It was not staged like the photos on redfin:

It had some furniture, but was mostly empty.
Cons:
It was not as bright and clean as the photos make it look. Carpets look like they may be original and in need of replacing.
There was some sort of awful smell in the kitchen area that the agent attempted to cover using a candle. I don’t know enough about removing smells to know how worried to be about it.
Open layout for the kitchen/living room, but the bedrooms were put in odd places. It seemed like there was a lot of wasted space in the layout.
My 2 year old cried when I made her leave the pink room.
Pros:
Easy walking to parks and an elementary school across the street.
Backyard seemed nice, good sized but not huge. It was raining so I did not walk around it though.
12 foot ceilings throughout the house. I actually don’t like heating all that space, but I understand that most people seem to find this a pro rather than a con.
3 car garage so lots of storage and room for workshop, etc.
My 2 year old girl loved the pink room.
