Catchy song, blame is a bit one sided.

I agree, it just blames the banks.

The debtors also have a big share of the responsibility.

But overall, the banks make loans every day and knew what was going to happen. The borrowers take out a mortgage maybe once a decade. So the banks deserve more blame.

The borrows were gambling. They don't deserve sympathy. No one ever gives sympathy to responsible renters priced out of buying a home.
