you must have missed the thred where I shared how silly it is to give personage to on-line posters. There is no sex, no male nor female, no race, no weight nor hight, and therefore there is no reason for a "come-on".

Let me demonstrate:
I am a 24 year old blonde female 36D / 28 / 32 who is famous in the porn industry
wait .. now I am a 46 year old negro male in prison for gang rape of a male corrections officer
no .. wait .. I am a 74 year old retired fireman that was second in line to go to the moon when I was in the Apollo program ...
see how it works? There is no sex, creed, color, or any personage other than letters on a screen. Hope that helps.
Good day.

besides, she's married, I'm married, and she doesn't really like my political views. But, she is nice.

you mean, other than the fact that we cant build a pyramid as perfect today?

Dang...someone clearly hasn't Partied at the Luxor in Vegas!! If you can get pass the bedbugs you will see a more perfect pyramid with a much more juciey filling

I spent 3 months or so travelling around Egypt when I was 18. It was fascinating.

Did you go to the Pizza Hut in Cairo? If so, what size and what kindsa toppings do they have over there? I slung dough for PH when I was in high school. But not on Cairo.

You do realize that science refused to admit that large astorids could even hit earth until this century, right? Refused!!

Uhh, I assume by "this century" you mean the past century or so. Otherwise I think you'll find a little incident that happened on Jupiter, recorded by Hubble sort of established the empirical record in real-time.

Irrespective, I didn't realize what you claim because it's categorically false. I'm pretty sure that Kepler, Galileo and Copernicus were from earlier centuries (though I'm not sure if that violates some fundamentalist math somewhere). They all "admitted" that large extrplanetary bodies were not only likely, but destined to continue colliding with the Earth. And then there's always Newton (also not from this century).

That Newton. The one who lost money in the South Sea Bubble. Too bad there was no patrick.net back then. I wonder what bubble-deniers in that period looked like.

I don't want to deny the possibility that the Egyptians had help. Partly because that sounds so cool. Perhaps they were working with the Atlanteans too.

More importantly, we just don't know enough to prove or disprove that. It is entirely possible that there was an hugely advanced civilization (with social networks and all) before our known history. We probably will never find out.

116   Randy H   2012 Jul 16, 2:52pm

I think we tend to underestimate human ingenuity. With enough motivation we prove a rather resourceful lot. If the Egyptians were motivated to build their monoliths -- and they were -- then they figured out a way.

117   Peter P   2012 Jul 16, 2:58pm

I have always been fascinated by the motivations behind the egyptians. What kind of programming did they received for them to do what they did? I want to learn that kind of programing skills. It beats Java and .Net.

118   Bap33   2012 Jul 16, 3:07pm

Hi Randy, long time no see. I am no expert, I just heard that, or read that, science disputed an asrtroid based mass kill event for the dinos. I like you examples though. I happen to think a large rock or two is how God did a few important things in history.

On your trust of the Egyptian claim of building the big rock piles, I just don't think so. Partly due to guys like in this clip and their information. Please enjoy and respond. You too PeterP!! lol

Perhaps God can move things along for manipulating probabilistic events at the subatomic level? There are many possibilities.

Bap, have you read many of Hancock's books?

120   Randy H   2012 Jul 16, 3:17pm

Hey Bap33. Remember that "science" is nothing more than a method. That method encourages and allows for competing or conflicting theories. It's not possible to definitively prove the KT event was caused by an asteroid, though it's a pretty well verified theory. But there are still scientists who propose alternate theories. I could mention that of all the grand theories of scientific discovery, evolution is the most well proven and repeatedly supported, but that tends to start all that noise up.

As for Egytian megaliths, I tend to favor the lost techniques and technologies theory.

121   Bap33   2012 Jul 16, 3:41pm

Peter, I have only listened to him in his own words. I just gave my 72 Y.O. dad one of his books for fathers day. I have my dad's copy of "Late Great Planet Earth" by Hal --- hmmm cant recall last name right now and it's dark in here and turning on the light will get me wife whipped, so it will wait. lol

Randy, I do not see evolution by mutation as possible. I see selective breeding within species. I see survival of the fittest within kingdoms. I think the ancient writings, that gave a chrono for creation, correcty getting the order right with respect to the modern view of the fossil record should get some attention.

122   Peter P   2012 Jul 16, 3:46pm

What if evolution is randomness PLUS teleology? It can be part of a willful design.

123   StoutFiles   2012 Jul 16, 10:27pm

I don't believe unanswered questions about the universe make athiest's heads explode. I think that accepting what a book says without questioning it or the world around us is what makes their heads explode.

Remember that "science" is nothing more than a method.

Just like a human is nothing more than a collection of atoms. For a method, science is pretty fucking awesome. It's still mankind's greatest invention.

125   Dan8267   2012 Jul 16, 10:41pm

Wtf happen to this thread. It started off with a lame "god of the gaps" video that was easily refuted by atheists, and now it's talking about pyramids being programmed in .NET, alien's using technology to create life on Earth, and Pizza Hut. WTF?

Most off-topic thread ever.

126   Elwood P Dowd   2012 Jul 16, 11:40pm

One simple question: That video claims that both Christians and atheists believe in the law of cause and effect. Yet, for a Christian to believe such a thing, they would need to accept that their deity -- or any deity -- was the effect caused by some predecessor agent. Thus, assuming this video accurately represents Christian theology, there is no "unmoved mover" or "first cause?"

This contradicts what I've been led to believe on this matter, in all honesty. So, is the video in error in making that claim, or not?

Please don't mistake me. I think that science, as an iterative system of rational discovery and empirical thinking is man's greatest achievement in and of itself. As I said in that other thread that sent some other dude off the deep end, I'm an Objectivist.

The Christian would claim that God by definition is an eternal and infinite being (unlike the universe) so isn't bound by this rule. Neat dodge, eh?

129   Bap33   2012 Jul 17, 12:30am

I am not sure that it is right to expect a Christian, or any other of God's followers, to know all of the exacting details concerning the existance of God. I am not saying it's like T.V, where a person can watch and enjoy it without understanding all of the parts and their funtions. But, it is kinda like that. Kinda.

Dan, we could change the thred name to "how to make Dan's head explode!" lol

Yep, let's all worship Supergod, who created Yahweh.
