Your altruism will be rewarded with more talents whom we will create, develop and foster with the funding. This will attract more talents who will no doubt contribute to creating companies like Google, Apple, Intel and Microsoft. A job well done.

Now, we need to make sure the money will be spent on our kids.

SFace says

if there is a window of opportunity to repeal prop 13

pretty sure constitution trumps what they can do with that.

but I'm also pretty sure they can do a lot of tax-raising within Prop 13's limitations, like per-foot parcel taxes (as opposed to ad-valorem property taxes).

Not that they would be so intelligent as to start taxing away the trillion+ of property (over)-valuations here in this state.

Thing is, just higher income taxes will also have the same effect of hitting home valuations (and rents).

(I hope!)

32, 34 and 35 worked out like I wanted. 33 did not, but that was relatively low on my priority list anyway.

Higher taxes to support pensions for government workers while pensions have all but disappeared for the vast majority of private sector workers.

This "for the kids" schtick was a complete crock.

Brown is in the pocket of the public sector unions.
