Meh, those are tame. I offered ~14% over asking on an $1.1M house in Mountain View, and I waived ALL contingencies, since my financing was all set. Someone bid ~30% over asking, paid cash, with no contingencies.

I placed a bid on a foreclosure for 25% under asking price. There were already multiple bids.After the house closed the agent told me that she had a bid for 30% over the asking price & lost the sale to a 34% bid.
How stupid am I? I could have bid 50% over the asking price & stolen the house. LOL
