Tea Party supporters are of course well known for their passionate belief that the federal government should cut spending, so it was a little more than ironic that they could not name a single program to eradicate. Social Security, Medicare, education, unemployment, defense, and hurricane relief all got a quick “no” from the Tea Party supporters when asked in the video if they would cut those.

Now, welfare did not come up in the video, and we suspect that it would have received a resounding “yes!” from the folks in the video. However, unemployment is considered to be a part of welfare spending – over 25% of it, in fact – and it received a “no”.

Umm, a video by "Americans Against The Tea Party" isn't a neutral source, and the video doesn't even claim to survey a representative sample. A common Tea Party demand that the Occupiers agreed with was to end the Federal Reserve. Also, the Tea Party went through several stages, from the early Ron Paul libertarian days (when average educational attainment and income were higher than the national averages) to the later hijacked "Tea Party Express" and the caricatures presented by PhRMA-sponsored evening news ("Keep your government hands off my Medicare").
