except to deny minorities the right to vote from selective enforcement, to feed the for-profit prison system, and to prevent cheap, patent-free pain medication that has no side effects and would kill major profits for the pharmaceutical industry.

You are talking about the US here right ? So why is it illegal in many other
nations ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Opium_Convention

The International Opium Convention, signed at The Hague on January 23, 1912 during the First International Opium Conference, was the first international drug control treaty. It was registered in League of Nations Treaty Series on January 23, 1922.[1] The United States convened a 13-nation conference of the International Opium Commission in 1909 in Shanghai, China in response to increasing criticism of the opium trade. The treaty was signed by Germany, the United States, China, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Persia, Portugal, Russia, and Siam. The Convention provided that "The contracting Powers shall use their best endeavours to control, or to cause to be controlled, all persons manufacturing, importing, selling, distributing, and exporting morphine, cocaine, and their respective salts, as well as the buildings in which these persons carry such an industry or trade."

The Convention was implemented in 1915 by the United States, Netherlands, China, Honduras, and Norway. It went into force globally in 1919 when it was incorporated into the Treaty of Versailles.

But there is no socially justifiable reason why cannabis is illegal.

So by your (twisted) standards ...Sobriety is not enough! so due to evidence provided, you are now against govt regulations...

I have no idea what you are talking about, but the fact that you quoted Wikipedia makes me think it's nonsense.

Every country has brain-dead, irrational, religious nutjobs that lobby for victimless crimes in the name of their unfounded and incorrect beliefs.

The better question is why should marijuana be illegal. And for any reason you give, apply that also to alcohol, prescription drugs, smart phones, and everything else, not just pot.

Yeah, but it's pot that's illegal. Hell, pot should be mandatory under law for all these assholes going out on Black Friday, just to mellow them out and make them less violent.

According to Wikipedia, Plato was an ancient surfer and weatherman in Hawaii and the pupil of Barney the Purple Dinosaur. Try quoting real sources like I do.

What rational scientific conclusion? What science? What reasoning? You haven't stated any justification for criminalizing marijuana usage, nonetheless explained why other countries have criminalized it.

You haven't sited any scientific study. And you go look for any, you'll find all the anti-marijuana studies are fraudulently wrong and discredited.

I've actually played devil's advocate and searched long and hard for a single, rational reason to make marijuana illegal. I found none. Lots of bullshit reasons based on falsehoods. No legitimate reason. No reason based on any truth.

Which rational scientific conclusion did many back then come up with?

Marijuana was criminalized, the same way all laws come into existence. Corporations using government to stamp out the competition. DuPont and William Randolph Hearst,,,but I thought everyone already knew the simplest of facts on this issue. The usfedgov utilized propaganda that niggers and mexicans would get all highed up on marijuana, and then come rape all the white women

And to stop cheap, renewable hemp from competing with Hearst's forests and pulp mills, while giving jobs to the Liquor Control officials after Alcohol was re-legalized.

where does asprin come from ? Willow Bark.. so did the govt ban Asprin or the many other drugs extracted from vegetation/plants ?

if its all "usfedgov", then why was it made illegal where there were no blacks/mexicans, such China/Japan and Europe. And of course all other nations in Latin America and Africa also made it illegal. Your reason doesnt make sense...

Distorted sense of time
Anxiety / Paranoia / Depression
Magical or "random" thinking
Short-term memory loss
Lowers men's testosterone levels
Schizophrenia Risks
Withdrawal symptoms

Stoners ... where are they today !

thomaswong.1986 Please answer my question from this past Sunday. What are you promoting/advocating/talking about with "sobriety" thingy? What you described below is a textbook definition of a chronic heavy drinker

Withdrawal symptoms

Stoners ... where are they today ! Just change this to boozers..

Go ahead.. get a criminal record of being busted for pot..
see how far your life and career go!

I seen way too many people become addicts.. enough not to gamble what

some chimp has to say about it.. your playing a very dangerous game with drugs.

you will always be better off being sober...

57   anonymous   2013 Dec 3, 10:25am

Fuck sobriety

All the most motivated, intelligent, succesful people I know,,,smoke some grass from time to time.

All the fat slobs of piss poor health and diet, spirit, body, and mind, are drinkers

I don't associate much with sober bores, so can't offer much opinion.

LOL! oh look what we have here....

Efforts to relax US marijuana laws lose benefactor

http://www.cnbc.com/id/101235725

With the death of Cleveland billionaire and philanthropist Peter B. Lewis, the push for relaxed U.S. marijuana laws lost its most generous supporter. That's left supporters wondering what comes next.

Lewis, chairman of Progressive Insurance, died Saturday at age 80. Since the 1980s, he had donated an estimated $40 million to $60 million to marijuana law reform including underwriting ballot campaigns, research, political polling and legal defense efforts.

( the following sentence should be of some interest to the so called Occupy the 1% )

Largely through Lewis' efforts, and those of several other billionaires, 20 states since 1996 have passed medical marijuana laws, 17 have decriminalized the drug and two have passed legalization language

I couldn't possibly care less if pot were legal. Seems to me to be a great opportunity for tax revenue that, for once, doesn't affect me, the lowest member of the 1%.

However, I have to say that back in my dating days, I dated a few guys who were regular pot users. In my experience, I found every single one of them to be painfully stupid (inarticulate... S-M-R-T-smart, if you know I mean.... you know, so stupid that you begin feeling bad because you're making fun of them and they don't even realize it.)

Now, I've never used the stuff, myself, so I can't be absolutely sure.... But I've definitely seen a correlation between regular pot use and.... how can I say this nicely... minor brain damage. I admit, I haven't dated every regular pot user on the planet, so my sample size is a tad small and, therefore, my theory may be flawed.... Or, I was just a very tough first date.

If it were just about pot, I'd agree. But the war on drugs is a crime against humanity.

The following article is enough to make you sick.
