This is destroyed with simple reasoning: If people are too faulty and illogical to apply an ideal and balanced system, then the government, consisting of faulty and illogical people plus massive power of coercion and bribery, cannot do so either and does more harm than good when it enters the realms of morality and complexity. Keep it simple baby!

"In theory, communism works" is a great jab.
Now switch communism with Libertarianism. Not many years ago I'd have offered spirited defense of how Libertarian theory was perfect and you just didn't understand it yet.
