What a crock of shit. Half the baby boomers or more will be working as long as they possibly can. Well in to their 70s if they are healthy enough.
You need help. If you must have an enemy (which is sick), maybe find one that makes more sense, such as the plutocrats. Sure, some are boomers, but being a boomer hardly makes you anything closer to wealthy.
You're obsessive envy and anger is seriously misplaced.
Most Americans are counting on SS as their sole source of retirement income.
It will be brutal.
The point is, sometimes you have logical discussions, and other times, like the last 24 hours, you turn into a real asshole, which kills your credibility in many people's eyes....
If people want to read what I have to say that's fine, if not that's fine too.
Everyone contributes in their own way, except for a couple who seem to have serious mental issues.
They will just have to work until they drop dead:
Yeah what's the alternative retire and sit at home with your 45 year old son(by that time) who hadn't worked a day in his life. Telling you about the virtues of working your ass off, and being proud to have the Liberal greed machine come up with new ways to tax it, to give to disabled fit.
Everyone contributes in their own way, except for a couple who seem to have serious mental issues.
Is there something you want to tell us about yourself??
Before I do I need assurances -
What is stated on Patnet stays in Patnet.
Funny you say that because anytime anyone talks about altering or dissembling the liberal greed machines know as SS or Medicare you are the first to defend them. Hypocrite.
Yeah Old people who "PAID" taxes in a productive life, but now are unable to work, thus unfit. What is so hard to understand.
My guess you're going to get fired as an Obama Navigator. You're too emotional by trying to do a good job for Obama. That you lack all critical thinking. Thus you're having the Opposite effect of what your Boss intended.

That is exactly the point of the article.
It's not consistent with this "consuming the future of the younger generation in an attempt to finance an opulent retirement".
I didn't read the article because of your trollish "everyone needs to hate all the boomers" nonsense.
Okay, I read it. The author is an idiot. He lacks logic and arithmetic skills.
Social Security slowly goes up, and 2trillion plus is accounted for with bonds that are in the SS trust fund. These will be honored as all US treasury bonds will be.
I don't claim to know how this will occur, and it might be true that things will be tight for boomers. They might also have to do means testing and adjust our priorities. Maybe we will strat spending hundreds of billions less on wars.
The one thing you can count on is that the boomers will be an solid and strong voting block. Older people always are. Meanwhile most of Congress will be boomers as will of their friends.
The author's thesis in insanely stupid.
His thesis in insanely stupid.
There's a lot of insanely stupid stuff on that website.

demographically, we're going to have plenty of working-age people 2015-2045 as the baby boomers retire.
the problem is finding these working-age people jobs! We're 12M jobs short now, if these 12M people were working, and paying their FICA, there wouldn't be any long-run problem with SS.
Medicare is a different story, since the older people get the more costly their health bills become, and the baby boom is an IMMENSE wave of Medicare beneficiaries if nothing else.
Medicare tax is probably going to have to be doubled to 6%.
This is not a big disaster, just one of a long list of taxes that have to be doubled. People think rising taxes are bad but cheer on the rising cost of housing.
rents have risen 30% since 2000:
http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?g=uT1
where's the big rightwing bullshit machine's complaint about that???
It's the same fucking thing in the end, and if we raised taxes like we need to, the cost of housing wouldn't be rising, since it's our own stupid rising AFTER TAX incomes that are pushing up the cost of housing.
Nobody gets this.
A funny thing about the future is that it is hard to predict. The boomers are going to work longer. Which is good because mutts like you won't.
Another thing is that the US is going to grow quite a bit which means that the entitlements may not be as big a problem.
This also means that the labor force is going to grow.
Areas like the bay area are not going to be quite the draw that they are now, inland like Utah or Colorado will be more of a draw.
When they start fracking in Calif (thanks to Moonbeam, the quintessence of hypocrisy, and a complete asshole) Calif debt will be somewhat mitigated.
Countries like Nigeria and other African countries are going to grow geometrically, which will help create a worldwide middle class.
Technology is going to change geometrically as well. Nobody's job will stay the same.
But there will be the wiener dog completely sequestered by blame, not him being blamed, but him blaming the cursed boomers.
The boomers are going to work longer. Which is good because mutts like you won't.
Are you upset that you have to work and wont be able to sponge off the work of others for 30+ years?
but him blaming the cursed boomers
You still don't get it... it's not about me, I'm just the messenger who is barking; trying to wake you people from the comatose state of denial. This will fall squarely on your heads and you will wonder what happened. These issues have been discussed and warned about for decades and your generation did nothing to solve these things.
Yes doctor, another case of projecting, although this is an extreme case...
