You weren't a victim, everyone gets the shitty end of the stick sometimes. One day it's you because you're too brown the next it's me because I'm too white. Or just maybe it wasn't either of those, it was just because sometimes people are just being people and dissed us for reasons unknown.

The thing I notice the more "Progressive" this new generation gets and "Race" supposedly isn't an issue for them. They are more introverted and when they aren't being introverted they are more cliquish than ever. Sure it's a motley group or queers, blacks, chinks and crackers and muslims but they can be just as mean and nasty to someone who's not in their clique, as racial groups can be.

We might be able to beat the concept of race out of people. But people's basic fundamental need to gravitate around a short list of people that they really trust when shit goes down. Will always prevail. So it's not race, but it is still clans, gangs, clique mentality.

Just look how brutal they can be. It's gotten so out of hand, we've got a grown ass man 400lb Football quarterback crying about being bullied by his best friend.

And for once it wasn't about race. Now here's a huge black guy that could bend you and I in half, at the same time, feeling like he was being razzed by his best friend. But then never once made it about race. Instead it was about Homophobic slurs.

We're all assholes! If it's not one thing to bitch about what your fellow man is saying then it's just something else. So we look for people we can seek out and commiserate about how fucked up everybody else is. Then before you know, they grow tired of your crap. Then before you know it, they're hanging out with a new Clique and you're on the outs. So what do you do?
Well you call him up and call him a big fat homo, because the "N" word would have been going too far.

Everybody could just use some more understanding.

I take umbrage at the generalization, because as was already shown, there are white/white Hispanics. There are black Hispanics. There are Mestizos with all different kinds of indigenous blood in them, mixed with all kinds of other ethnicities.

Yet, in most of Latin America, the caste system is the same. The whiter you are, the better--The greater your wealth, the greater your power.

It would be wrong to believe that the white minority that controls the machinery and divvies up the land does so because they are more driven. Being driven doesn't get you wealth and power, as is evidenced by the (not coincidentally) darker-skinned Latinos who migrate to America. They are extraordinarily driven people, not because of their skin color, but as evidenced by the shit they endure just to get here, and the arguably shittier things they have to do to stay (including dealing with racist assholes in America)

I agree with your statement. I never like speaking for other Hispanics I just like to present a different perspective from one person.
