McDonald's stock MCD +0.45% lost 0.5% to $100.53 on Wednesday, and has slipped 0.8% since the end of April, after running up 7.7% over the previous three months.

Meanwhile, shares of rivals Wendy's WEN +0.82% have gained 2.5% since the end of April, Burger King Worldwide BKW +0.67% has advanced 3.4%% and Jack in the Box JACK +0.57% have rallied 12%. And while it's a stretch to think of McDonald's burgers as gourmet, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers RRGB +0.78% have climbed 6.4% in two months.

The S&P 500 SPX +0.35% has gained 4.8% since the end of April.

The latest Consumer Reports survey showed that of all the major U.S. burger chains, McDonald's hamburgers were the worst tasting. The results are based on responses from 32,405 subscribers to Consumer Reports, and more than 96,200 dining experiences at 65 fast-food and fast-casual chains.

So it's no surprise that McDonald's U.S. same-store sales fell 1% in May from a year ago, were flat in April and declined 1.7% in the first quarter.

“More and more, food quality -- not just low price -- is emerging as a deciding factor for many Americans when choosing where to spend their dining dollars,” said Tod Marks, senior projects editor at Consumer Reports.

Irony.....Chipotle, whose stock is doing exceptionally well belonged to McDonalds at one point.

When I was in HS and college I ate fast food all the time. All I know is that whatever the stuff is made out of doesn't bode well for my stomach as an adult: The last time I went and got some ( I can't remember which burger joint it was ) it was on the way to a game of golf. I felt like crap for the rest of the day.

....yet MCD will still churn out dividends in good times and bad, making 60% of its revenues overseas where the growth is. Like PHILLIP Morris and Coke, these are core holdings that I don't consume. I'll laugh at all the "shit burger" jokes (all the way to the bank...)

After I eat McDonald's food I feel like I have a brick in my stomach. And yet I still eat there now and then. I'm not sure why I do this. Perhaps a resident conspiracy theorist can explain?

Perhaps you are an actor pretending to be you-did you look at the cockeyed arm??

McDonald's pandering to a Demographic that wouldn't eat there on a bet, is killing their stocks.
