What part of completely do you not understand, albeit admittedly an advanced stage.

And for me, as I think it should be for any rational person, you study the system based on the thinking of the people who love it, but you also look at the thinking of the people who are critical of it, and then you come to your own judgement. We've been a nation -- and that's been my whole life experience in the United States -- that has been hesitant to do that; doesn't want to weigh the two sides. Wants to be the celebrator all the time and never look on the side of the criticism. And I think as we grow up as a nation it's time to look at that part of the way capitalism works.

Honey, you really need to work on your reading comprehension. Wolff's point clearly was to listen to both sides of the argument and weigh all evidence rather than accepting the popular view on faith.

Do conservatives always disagree with reasonable things because they misread them? Maybe that explains all their batshit ideas. Like when they read that the Earth is round, they don't think sphere, but rather disc and conclude that the world is actually flat. It sure would explain why what conservatives say is reality is usually the exact opposite of what everybody else observes.

You are deliberately misinterpreting his words because you don't want even the possibility of agreeing with him, and that proves his point, which is that people in America are not even open to discussing economics rationally and looking at all arguments.

He hasn't even made any statement about economics itself. His statement is the most unobjectionable statement one could possibly make, that we should discuss the issue. To disagree with that shows a level of prejudice that can only be explained as religious. Economics is the new religion and zealots like you make sensible economic debate and exploration impossible.
