Poverty exists because of bad values. It is that simple. The majority of poor people think wealth is a sin. It is not surprising their moral high ground is a swamp.

It is all too human to find comfort in blame. As a result, the goal to lift oneself out of poverty is entirely forgotten. On the other hand, winners do not waste time with excuses.

Do you want to succeed? Or would you like to have the most beautiful, heart-wrenching story of your failure.

Do not confuse selfish forces with the battle of selfish forces.

The defeat of such dictators was a case in point.

I'm sure the millions of innocent civilians who were slaughtered merely for being in the way would wholeheartedly agree their intense suffering was worth making your point.

Time for more deep thoughts by Jack Handy ?

Everyone should just go here instead of reading Peter Ps next comment.

Seriously? You have to invoke Jack Handey to counter my one-liners? I feel flattered. :-)

As I have said many time, life is a tragedy.

"To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering."

Besides, Germany supported Hitler because they lacked self-interest. They were all too fired-up about making things "right."

Most dictators rose to power because of similar reasons.

I think he rose to power because he solved a financial problem for the German people

Still, his charisma had a lot to do with it, and charisma does not work well on selfish individuals.

"Right" in that regard was for the German people to claim their natural position as masters of the universe.

I think it is an important group dynamic in that people get stuck in traumatic experiences. They get confused so they look for something stable. Which was Hitler. Who could blame them WWl then hyper inflation their saving destroyed.

Similarly after Pearl Harbor people rallied around FDR, after 9/11 they rallied around Bush.

They don't matter. If there were worth a damn, they would have been removed from the fighting, living in Palm Beach, reading the papers about it. Since they were dumb and largely poor, they deserved death.

I don't have to, but your glib stupid comments that are supposedly profound remind me of some of the old Jack Handy stuff. It was funny, because it was as if he really thought they were profound.

And yes, I know glib doesn't imply stupid.
