Perhaps there's something about the name that makes it a tempting locale to stash porn, but Air Canada pilots have been warned to stop sneaking porn into the cockpit, after several incidents where the airline found explicit content on planes. Because you know, there are other things to concentrate on when you're flying a ginormous piece of metal through the sky, thousands of feet above the ground.

According to News.com.au, the airline sent an internal email about the problem last year, but it was only recently obtained by CBC News. It's the first we've heard about it, I'll say that.

In the email titled “Inappropriate Material in the Embraer Flight Deck,” the chief pilot writes that this is an ongoing problem and it's time to cut it out.

“I am disappointed to have to raise this issue once again but unfortunately we have some people that have yet to understand the message,” he wrote, adding that the airline was trying to find the people responsible.

“Once they are identified they will be subject to discipline to the full extent of the law and our corporate policies.”

That warning email — the second of two sent in about a year — didn't stop all the smut smuggling, apparently, as porn was reportedly discovered on a jet as recently as February. Add all the way back six years ago, a female pilot claimed she saw pornographic images glued and tucked into parts of the cockpit, including some violent images.

At that time, Air Canada found “evidence of racial or ethnic prejudice as well as sexual materials in the workplace.”

It's not a violation of safety rules, however, but Transport Canada's aviation health and safety occupational officer says the agency did try to get Air Canada to take things more seriously. Because yes, it is hazardous to have that stuff around on the job, and not just because of distractions in the nether regions.

“Pilots are stuffing paper material inside compartments where electrical wiring is and that this is a hazard not to mention that this is a form of workplace violence,” she says.

Air Canada says it was just one plane recently, however, with a spokesman telling CBC News: “The material in question consisted almost entirely of inappropriate business cards and was confined mainly to one aircraft type and route, our Embraer E-90s operating to Las Vegas.”

Oh, well, if it was on the way to Las Vegas, that explains it. But not really.

Porn company offers Air Canada pilots free memberships

Air Canada pilots have an interesting offer from one of the largest online porn companies on the internet: Prove you’re a pilot with the Canadian airline and you get a free membership.

Brazzers, which runs a network of 31 adult websites, has glommed on to the news that some Air Canada pilots have been leaving pornographic materials behind in their cockpits. The airline has had to repeatedly address the issue with staff, most recently in February of this year.

That embarrassing revelation has led Brazzers to issue a public offer to Air Canada pilots of free adult entertainment on any of its sites, which includes Big Wet Butts, Real Wife Stories — as well as other, more vulgarly named offerings.

“We are beyond ecstatic that you love pornography so much, but flight safety should be your number one concern,” Brazzers vice president Samantha Evans wrote in a press release Friday. “Don’t worry, we’re not mad, just a bit disappointed you didn’t reach out to us first to lend a helping hand.

“The solution is simple: You like porn, we make porn.”

Evans says pilots can get all the free porn they want for as long as they work for Air Canada. There’s just one catch: to redeem the offer they need to publicly out themselves by tweeting at the porn company’s Twitter account. That essentially makes the offer moot since pilots are unlikely to remain employed with the airline if they follow through on the deal.

Air Canada says the porn problem was restricted to a small minority of flights to and from Las Vegas and mostly consisted of obscene business cards picked up in that city.

“Air Canada has a strict zero tolerance policy to protect its employees against harassment of any kind, including inappropriate materials that may offend co-workers,” airline spokesperson Peter Fitzpatrick told Postmedia in an emailed statement last month. “Air Canada took immediate corrective action to adapt its pilot training accordingly and regularly reminds employees that such materials are not tolerated in the workplace.”

The full Brazzers offer below:

Dear Air Canada’s porn-enthusiast pilots,

First and foremost, we appreciate the amazing travel experience and safe flights you’ve provided for 39 years. On behalf of everyone who has joined the mile-high club on your aircrafts, thank you! But we have to chat about something else, something important. We are beyond ecstatic that you love pornography so much, but flight safety should be your number one concern. Don’t worry, we’re not mad, just a bit disappointed you didn’t reach out to us first to lend a helping hand.

The solution is simple: You like porn, we make porn. If you’re a pilot working for Air Canada, reach out to us on http://www.twitter.com/brazzers, prove that you work for Air Canada, and we’ll give you a membership for as long as you are employed with them. Just remember one thing: We’ll take care of the cock, you take care of the pit.

Yours truly,

Samantha Evans
Vice President of Brazzers

First person comes forward to accept free porn offered to Air Canada pilots

When Brazzers offered Air Canada pilots free pornography earlier this week, it seemed unlikely any would step forward to claim their prize. On Wednesday, however, the adult entertainment company announced it had given away its first membership to someone in Victoria, B.C.

Brazzers announced its deal for Air Canada pilots after a story about lewd materials being found in the cockpits of passenger jets made international news. Air Canada says the problem was restricted to planes servicing Las Vegas and mostly consisted of naughty business cards, but that didn’t stop the porn company from making a sweeping offer to all the airline’s aviators. All they had to do was publicly identify themselves to the @Brazzers account on Twitter and, presto, free porn for the remainder of their empployment with Air Canada (however long that may be).

On Tuesday, a Twitter user stepped up and answered the call, although he’s since deleted his tweets and asked us not to name him. He said he and some friends thought “it would be funny to contact them since I am a pilot and I work for air Canada” - although he is not a pilot with the airline itself. That was still close enough for Brazzers, who granted him a one-year membership.

An Air Canada representative denied he was an employee.

I have a brother-in-law who has flied commercial jets for over 20 years. He talks about how boring hours and hours in the air are. Takeoff and landings are the only places where pilots are needed. Yes, the cockpit crew tracks things once in the air, but so much of it is computerized any more that once you're in the air, a computer is flying the plane. That said, I can't/don't bring porn to my place of business, whack off on your own time.

Yeah, because there just isn't enough free porn on the internet.

Gummy instrumentation leading to flight failure: the FAA's hidden secret shame.

How about a new name: the Clampit, the Whackpit, the Strokepit.

The doors are locked except for the stewardess' glory hole hatch. Of course, a terrorist could grab the organ and extort whatever they want.

Attention passengers, we're coming, we're coming, we're coming, Ahhhhh! into San Francisco International Airport.

I'd also be concerned about them getting jizz on the windshield and it blocking their view.

Is that why they have windshield wipers on the inside?

Sneaking Porn Into The Cockpit

That could cause toxic shock if the woman isn't aware that she has porn in her cockpit. They should be upfront about it... For safety reasons.

I knew that pilots and IUDs had something in common. You just can't be too careful about what you introduce into your cockpit.

Where's Mikey when we need him. Ellimae?

Perhaps this is more common on Malaysia Air?
