Demonstrations turned violent on Thursday as 100,000 supporters of Belgium’s three biggest trade unions protested in the streets of Brussels. At issue is the new government’s austerity programs which government workers claim favor the rich at the expense of the average worker.

The big issues are a two year wage freeze and the decoupling of the index that keeps benefits, public and some private sector wages in line with inflation. The deflationary forces all over Europe are forcing governments to scale back social programs, calling their actions “austerity measures”. Reactions to the measures are the same everywhere, dissatisfaction, protests and demonstrations.

The world has been unemployed or underemployed for so long, they have forgotten that a good job forgives a lot of debt and burden. Affects my take two weeks to notice, but it's all gravy after that.
