After the sermon I stepped outside. Lo and behold, my car had been stolen!

That's Ok. The money will be used for good purposes - drugs, alcohol, prostitutes and financing 7-11 robberies.
It's all about the "velocity of money". That car represented money that was stagnant. The thieves did the economy a favor.
