The AP article is quite good, and sticks to the facts. It should be noted that it specifically does NOT claim that the attacks, which were run via computers located in China, N.Korea and German,y were conducted by spys. The attacks may have been generic hacker attacks.
QUOTE:
Title: Clinton subject to hack attempts from China, Korea, Germany
It was not immediately clear whether the attempted intrusions into Clinton's server were serious espionage threats or the sort of nuisance attacks that hit computer servers the world over. But the new revelations underscore the extent to which any private email server is a target, raising further questions about Clinton's decision to undertake sensitive government business over private email stored on a homemade system.

Nevertheless, I think Clinton showed poor judgment in conduction official business on her private email server.
The real mileage on this is that she was willing to open her emails to hacks by going outside the State Department System in an attempt to avoid transparency.
She put politics ahead of national security.
The outcome will be, She'll never see a day of jail, but somehow legislation will come out of it. That no one is allowed to use their private email in a professional arranagement. The Outlook.com or the ilk will become the official email that everyone must use. Even banning personal hosted email servers all together.
Then for good measure, they will limit Email official email services to just a few like MS, GOOGLE and Yahoo.
And it will be as impossible to break into like the Telcos.
So, she sold access to her private server to the highest bidder for grotesque sums when she was serving.
Why do you hate free enterprise?
In a significant development, two senior Republicans in the House and Senate have called for the FBI to review eight thumb drives that contain hidden documents related to the 2016 investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.
The documents, which are now being scrutinized in light of recently declassified materials, could have major implications for both Clinton’s handling of classified information and the broader political landscape surrounding the 2016 election.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chair Rick Crawford (R-AK) have requested that FBI Director Kash Patel review these thumb drives to determine if the contents should be declassified.
