My first car was a '67 Mustang that I drove in high school and I've owned 6 total in my younger life.
From running around that scene in my 20's, I can tell you that few cars have more knucklehead owners than Mustangs. I think there's several reasons. Over the last 30yrs, it's been the best value "sports car" out there that you can buy with a V8, manual transmission, limited slip differential, and creature comforts. These cars are plentiful, inexpensive, and easily replaceable when you put one into a wall.
If you can afford a car, then you can afford a Mustang. And so it attracts a wide range of enthusiasts, which includes the lowest common denominator.
For many it's a "gateway" sports car, it certainly was for me. When I was young and poor, I drove Mustangs because that's what most people drive when they are young and poor and want a "sports car"
Being young, poor, and inexperienced, means that you are the perfect candidate to star in the video posed above.
Also, a torquey. front heavy, rear wheel drive solid axle car will commonly get people in trouble...
I'm still an auto enthusiasts these days but I've "graduated" to more refined cars since then.
