Finally called NC. How about GA?

289   zzyzzx   2016 Nov 8, 8:11pm

Oregon called for Hillary
Idaho called for Trump.

I would not be surprised if those and CA were called with zero % of the votes in.

Nate Silver's site still gives Hillary a 71% chance of winning. Just thought you should know.

Wrong. THey had Hillary at 50% long ago, and have TRump at 61% now.

California has a good amount of votes in on that call ... and overwhelming for Clinton.

I was just at his site. Maybe I was looking at an old page? I don't know. I swear, it said 71%.

Hillary's lead in Iowa shrinking

297   Tenpoundbass   2016 Nov 8, 8:15pm

On the plus side I don't have to quit my job and move to a Red State. Even if my coworkers has assured me for the last 18 months that Trump was going to lose.

298   turtledove   2016 Nov 8, 8:16pm

The map looks so very red right now.

299   Dan8267   2016 Nov 8, 8:16pm

How pathetic is Hillary that she couldn't defeat Trump with all the money, media, and power backing her up? I mean Trump was a joke candidate and yet he is crushing her. Imagine if the Republicans actually had a good candidate that half the population didn't despise.

Image if the Democrats had a good candidate that half the population didn't despise. Maybe the DNC will learn its lesson and go for a Bernie or Stein type in 2020. Hopefully they'll realize that Hillary has now blown two elections and doesn't deserve a third opportunity when far more qualified and ethical people are around.

300   anonymous   2016 Nov 8, 8:16pm

Trump now leading in Iowa. If he takes Iowa, he doesn't need Michigan.

North Carolina ... oh my god.

304   Dan8267   2016 Nov 8, 8:19pm

I don't look forward to the Trump administration, but Hillary's defeat sends a message that the establishment is fucked and the Democratic party needs to respect the interest of the population, not just the largest 500 corporations.

Corporations may be considered people under Citizens United, but they can't vote.

305   turtledove   2016 Nov 8, 8:19pm

Seriously, I never thought he could do it. I wanted change. Truly, I would never have picked him as the agent. I'm stunned, happy, excited and scared at the same time.

Ginormous resources -- two-three times more PAC money, tons more Hedge Fund/Wall St Money, every last Establishment Figure, and most of the Republican Establishment to boot.

Nor I. We got what we can get . I think he will grow into it, and he'll have a very moderate, slowly reformist administration. The stumbling block is to reign in NeverTrump Country Club GOPe.

311   Rew   2016 Nov 8, 8:23pm

I think that and some model tipping based on how the polls were off. Rural vote.

Maybe... But more of the same would have been worse. I know you disagree. But to me, it is worse. Agree to disagree? If he fucks it all up, I assure you that I can be a pretty tough critic, too... but we have to take the chance, IMHO. Things are just too messed up the way they are now.

318   Dan8267   2016 Nov 8, 8:26pm

No, that was the Democratic primary voters who thought that the mere chance of Hillary becoming president was worth the risk of Trump becoming president. Bernie Sanders would have crushed Trump.

I guess those Bernie or Bust voters were important after all. Have we learned anything, class?

321   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Nov 8, 8:28pm

Wisconsin at 70% in and Trump has a multiple point lead.

Most of Madison, Most of Milwaukee in and still plenty of rural/suburban to go

Trump up by around 100,000 votes in PA according to my TV.

What are the chances of super majority in the houses?

326   turtledove   2016 Nov 8, 8:29pm

I'm out of wine. There was only half a bottle and my husband made me share. I don't have much alcohol in the house. Does rum go bad? What's that saying... "wine before liquor, never sicker?" Is it worth the risk?

Agree at this point MI looks closer to turn around for Clinton than Wisconsin. If NH and WI holds it's done, regardless of PA. PA will come down to the wire as well and Trump may capture a late lead.
