President Donald Trump has given the Central Intelligence Agency secret new authority to conduct drone strikes against suspected terrorists, U.S. officials said, changing the Obama administrations policy of limiting the spy agencys paramilitary role and reopening a turf war between the agency and the Pentagon. The new authority, which hadnt been previously disclosed, represents a significant departure from a cooperative approach that had become standard practice by the end of former President Barack Obamas tenure: The CIA used drones and other intelligence resources to locate suspected terrorists and then the military conducted the actual strike. The U.S. drone strike that...

I have no idea what he's thinking. After Wikileaks shows the enormous CIA overreach he wants to give them more power? I weep for our future

Trump is our last chance to reverse the federal govt tyranny installed by Bush2/Obama. If he instead pushes it forward, we're done. Our liberty is gone. We are officially 1984.

Shut the factory down, the dream is done.

Maybe he's trying to make friends with the CIA to get them on his side.

On the one hand, killing OBL and using drones may have inflamed the masses in these countries.

On the other hand the tyanny of the despotic leaders drive the people to flee to more just lands, and when they get there, the dont all appreciate the help that they are getting.

So Socialist EU countries give them so much that they immediately forget their being helped, and only knowing a despotic system, they are culturally despotic, with combined Islamo-potic overtones.

I have just read Montesquieu "Spirit of Laws" on the time just after the French Revolution, the differences between Republics, Monarcies, and Despots.

Its spot on 200+ years later.

Perhaps in the same just way that Reagan said "Mr G, tear down these walls", that the Trump needs to say "Muslims, start your reformation, and we wont harm you, dont reform and we will". The US and its allies must be just, and must be firm.

Sadly, treating these folks well, some of the bad apples actually use this against us.

I pray that Russia and China can be on our side when the wars start up on this.

Obama was too passive - and let the enemies advance - Trump must compensate - but I hope not overcompensating.

Not going to work, unfortunately.

Unless he wants them to fuck up big league, and give him an excuse to tear the place apart. But that's very risky since the buck is supposed to stop with him.

Or, lull them by kowtowing, then running in and filling vacancies with his own people when an opportunity arises.

We'll see, it's hard to Stump the Trump, but if anybody can, it's the CIA.
