Trump finally found a compromise that Republicans in the house could vote for. To make a long story short he is copying what the State of Alaska did. He is putting all of the people with reasonable good health in one pool. Their insurance premiums will be much lower. He is putting high-risk people in another insurance pool. He is budgeting $8 billion to pay for the medical costs of these people. This is far lower than the actual bill for this medical care will be, This is a Trojan Horse that will increase the budget deficit quite a bit.
Today I started to read a great book by my wife's CEO, Dr. Robert Pearl. It is titled Mistreated. Please get a copy and read it. You won't be able to put it down. He is critical of the very high cost of US health care (Over $3 trillion dollars per year.) and the poor health outcomes we have. If only all the politicians would read Dr.Pearl's book and take it to heart. No one is talking about controlling the price of prescription drugs and healthcare
