Not only that, the birds can recognize and discern people based on their faces. And they apparently like beautiful humans.

A 2002 paper found that chickens have the same preference for certain human faces as do humans, "keying in on things like symmetry" in features—one of the subconscious measures of attractiveness, Blatchford says.

It's another bit of evidence that perception of beauty is indeed innate and not cultural. Symmetry, for example, is an indicator of health and fertility, which is very relevant in evolutionary terms, and so ideals of beauty are likely to be something we are born with.

BTW, we owned chickens for about 7 years, and was impressed at their intelligence, which is denigrated to make it easier to eat them. Well, some of them are clearly smarter than others:
