I remember thinking it very odd that the culture in Ann Arbor seemed dedicated to undermining the country and the economic system that gave them all jobs. I started out at Notre Dame, which was of course quite Catholic and much more conservative, so it was a bit of a shock to transfer to UM Ann Arbor. At least engineering school is pretty much apolitical.

The housing newslinks were selected specifically to help people avoid the trap of mortgage debt, so I feel pretty good about those.

The stock market does worry me at times, like when I make a lot of money just by betting on the right stock. Where did that money come from exactly?

My mother owned a travel agency which was put out of business by people buying airline tickets on the Internet. And I worked on several internet projects which clearly were putting ordinary people out of work, such as one rail freight locator which resulted in a lot of operators being out of a job. And yet, it was still not exporting jobs to China.

I thought Obama was out of the ordinary at first, but in the end concluded he was just one more puppet of Wall Street, not willing to change anything.

I would have loved Ross Perot.
