The generator is likely the ONLY power source. Why would they place a generator at a car charging site? Because of a potential power outage that happens maybe once a year? They are that concerned about it being down for that long?
I work on DC car chargers. I might be the foremost expert in the communication standard to do this for 15518-2 and DIN in the United States - not that it's a big deal, the specification is complete garbage. The entire "electric cars are environmentally good" BS is just that - complete BS. The point of electric vehicles isn't about "saving the environment" - it's about not having to go to a gas station - and that is IT. That's the "wonderful driving experience" people actually want with an EV. They just don't want to have to go to a gas station. They want to pull their car into a garage, and have it fully charged by the next morning.
DC is just for long trips - where you need to recharge, but don't want to wait 8 hours, just 20 minutes.
I asked an engineer from another company about cars in Northern areas not being able to deal with the cold - he told me, it doesn't matter, the battery will expend energy to keep the car battery warm, so it didn't matter. Electric cars have absolutely nothing to do with reducing energy consumption or pollution, it's entirely about added convenience - that is how it is seen by real people in this industry.

I work with nothing but Liberals they make decisions to take servers off line because they think no one is using it. Because they were just told they need to set up paperwise.
Rather than checking if it would affect anyone taking a rarely used SQL server off line or if anyone is accessing those tables they just take it down. Then when you confront them that you need it, and ask why they didn't send out an email. They play the victim. God I miss when Conservative critical thinkers ruled the enterprise.
