I understand the original intent of extending the statute of limitations on child molestation and rape cases. Children, especially decades ago, had little to no options or help when they were molested or abused. It's reasonable when they grow up and gain agency and independence that they might then be able to pursue criminal remedies for the situation.

BUT! It's NOT reasonable in the Kavenaugh case, where both parties were high school students at the time, and the woman kept this allegation in the kitty till both parties are in their 50s. It smacks of an axe to grind, for a 50-something to bring forth this old of an allegation only when it becomes politically convenient.

High school people are immature and do really stupid shit sometimes. It's ridiculous to judge someone his age based on a single alleged event in his teens, now that he has a history as a law abiding adult who hasn't accumulated a portfolio of sexual misconduct accusers through 30 years of history.

For those who frame this as a liberal or conservative divide, I'm most like a Classical Liberal and non Trump supporter.

Most of those who support punishing people based on hearsay from 35 years ago - indeed that's it's crucial to "Stop The Patriarchy" - are found on the Democratic side. Very, very few Republican voters would say that's okay.

Yep. That's why her Lawyer says she wants an FBI Investigation - of course, that's just a ruse. If the Republicans accept it, it delays the nomination by months, essentially killing it. If the Republicans don't accept it, "SEXIST PIGS! Who won't look into SERIOUS ASSAULT on WOMYN!"

They didn't answer the Grassley before 10PM so they will vote on Monday to confirm Kavanaugh.
I expect a series of announcements after that. Trump has been putting many great things because he knew he needed sensible people on the bench because of all of the Commie activist Judges Obama padded our courts with. To undermine democracy and work against America's best interests.

Trump has been waiting for Judges that will send them all back to the bowels of Hell.
