Is it just a coincidence that BART safety started going to shit shortly after the BART police dept got nerfed after the Oscar Grant fiasco?

Vote. Out. Your. BART. Commissioners.

Last week...came home on BART in the early evening. Walking into parking lot. See two guys hovering over a parked car. One had his cell phone to his ear. I noticed something awfully odd about the car...

...no wheels. Not 'no tires'. NO WHEELS. There was a jack still on on the driver side front where the thieves left it, so that part of the car was actually off the ground. But the rest of the car was hard on the ground. Who knows what was being crushed on its underside. You know, tailpipes or even the axle unless it was front-wheel drive. It was a Mercedes two door coup of some sort. Dude on the phone was the owner calling his insurance company. Other guy was just some chump like me who saw what was going on. I didn't take a pic because I didn't think the owner would appreciate it. And even though he had no legal expectation right to privacy out in the middle of the parking lot, he was already having a Real Bad Day so I didn't. I wanted to because my first thought was "Posting this pic on PatNet would be awesome!". But anyway...

This was the Union City municipal parking lot on the other side of the BART station. So, technically not BART parking lot and thus not BART but hey...none of us were parking there to go to the McDonald's further down the block from BART, ya know? I've seen cars with smashed windows in this parking lot that I have been using on and off for like 20 years now. But it was the first time I saw that.

Not them really. It's the BART police 'association' (Union), I bet.

I rode BART everyday for twenty years. It was taken over by violent thus long before the Oscar Grant shooting.

BART riders need to unionize and take control away from the failed administrators.

Most people who ride are regulars and can self-organize. They can recruit other BART riders during their daily commute. If enough people donate or put in time to create a union website and can manage to stay unified and apply political pressure in spite of the divisive diversity of the bay area, they can fix it all.

One strategy for the union would be to recruit the employers who depend on BART to get their employees to work.

There’s just too many liberal creeps around here devaluing humanity and riding BART.
