Back to the thread - the state failed the children, their sexuality is neither here nor there. One state/city after another has a dismal record of failures with the Child Protective Services agencies.

The bottom line here is the "system" is not protecting those unable to protect themselves, but as a society we try to avoid dealing with that truth
