Advantages: Cuts real deep, can go 2-3 days without shaving.
Disadvantage: Time consuming, takes 3x longer, you can't just run that thing along your face like a packaged razor, unless you want to look like a slash victim.

The older consumer staples are held mostly for grim financial calculations, not for hope of inventing the singularity or making the world a better place.
So they're more vulnerable to consumer pressure in ways Big Fat Pink Haired Tech is not.
