Anyone familiar with Boise?

Wife and I going to visit for a weekend vacation and to scope it out as a potential move away from the congested hell hole Silicon Valley,

So far looks like schools are much better in ID at least where I’m at. My two older sons really like the classes much more, my oldest went on about how much better and more hands on everything is. His art class has way better equipment, and he is doing a lot of lab work in science class instead of dumb work sheets. Wife told me all the kids seem much kinder and respectful of adults. My oldest son made a friend day one and kid called my wife Mam. Kid came up to my youngest in class and told him out of the blue if he needs anything or any help to ask, my wife was blown away. She is having a hard time and use to being on the defensive so much dealing with schools in CA she doesn’t know what to do in ID.
School is full time for younger grades and the rest are slowly opening up full time. They seem to also get a lot less homework so far. Oldest is looking forward to getting his learners permit to drive at 14 1/2yo.

This is an outrage. ID needs Illiterate Kommie entrenched, overpaid, over-tenured teacher's union apparatchiks to correct this situation where children receive education.

Can't California mount a military campaign to annex these Kommie scoffers? Children who are taught to think are a danger to the State!

Lol, we used to do stuff like that when I was a kid.

For sure it's the dad driving the truck. I don't know any moms who would do it.

We used to go sledding, dads would lie belly down facing forward grabbing the horns and one or two kids would sit on top of the dad, families racing each other. The mountain was steep and we'd reach bob sledding speeds. Hitting a tree or ditch frontal or veering of the path in a curve certainly had brutal consequences, but luckily nothing besides mild concussions and a few bruises are what I can remember (pun intended). Mom's usually did not participate watch. Good times. Instead nowadays families hunker down in the basement in fear of a cold virus. Good times create weak men...

2 of my friends moved there. If you move there don’t say you are from Cali, they hate Californians out there.

Spent 30 days on Ko Tao once and lived in a beach bungalow, one of the best times of my life. Cheap as shit too, but that was in 2000 when there was a bhat crisis, so may be more expensive today. $4 a day I lived like a king.

Would you consider buying a home on this island and living for several months a year?

Yes, you, too, can live in beachfront opulence in Idaho. Natural, no?

Yes, the outdoors can be a distraction. Thank goodness developers are catering to the tastes of fleeing Californians: https://www.thevillageatmeridian.com/
