Under the Trump administration, high-skilled workers are getting rejected at a higher rate. In 2015, 92% of new H-1B visa applications were approved. But in the last two years, the approval rate dipped to only 75%.

I won't be happy until it is down to 7.5%.

Meanwhile, notice how the article avoids talking about Canadian citizen tech workers moving to the US under the MUCH EASIER TO OBTAIN TN1 & L1 visa programs? Oh yes. Can't mention NET inflows/outflows because those nasty figures tend to fuck up with the propaganda one is pitching, eh?

Care to bet that more will do so as their globalist elite Blackface government ramps up the drive to sell them out for cheaper tech workers from India?

As for tech workers remaining in the US, this is a boon. I personally have seen a surge in real compensation over the past two years that dwarf the inflation-adjusted mediocrity I had to put up in the Bush/Obama Globalist Sell Out Era.

TN status has some similarities with the H-1B visa. TN status may be easier for some Canadians or Mexicans to obtain, as they are not subject to the annual cap for H-1B visas issued.

Employers do not need to maintain extensive documents and records on TN workers, unlike with H-1B employees. In the case of an investigation or audit by the Immigration Service or Labor Department, the employer must show that the worker is in valid status. An employer must complete the Form I-9 for employees in TN visa status, as with all other employees.

I don't understand how journos can be so fucking stupid as to repeat word by word corporate propaganda and not question it. Pay your tech workers higher wages and you will have enough applications...

Google, Microsoft, Intel and Uber have either opened or announced plans for new offices in Canada. They would not have done that unless there is a compelling reason. While US has been very good in getting the best of best so far, a change in welcoming attitude will change the equation. Since the effect is not immediate, we wil find out in a few years.

This is good because these guys can actually go to real strip clubs and legally fuck hoes in Canada, when they're not at work, instead of loser Silicon Valley where there are no women and men get shoehorned into dating skanks, since there's no release for the pressures of the day.

...because said journos are paid by corporations who employ cheap tech workers also. Not exactly rocket science. :)

Yeah, because Trump-controlled USCIS is bureaucratically making it more and more difficult to get H1-B visa wage slaves cheaply and no new legislation will pass in Congress (despite bipartisan attempts in the Senate right now trying to) or survive Trump's veto.

Not that difficult to figure out.

a rhetorical question, obviously:)

but sometimes I do wonder if they are stupid OR they are paid off. May be both.

Wait a minute..... you're saying huge companies like google, microsoft, intel, etc. are just opening offices in Canada?? It can't be.

Clearly America is doomed and Canada will take over the planet now....

Canada's unemployment rate is just below 6%, and GDP growth rate has been below 2% for the past two years.

The US unemployment rate is about 3.5%, and our GDP growth rate has been above 2% since Trump took office.

Don't listen to Blackface Trudeau's propaganda organs.

Most everyone in Canada died after national health was inflicted and the government started selling organs.

Don't be fooled.
