My wife just got furloughed. We’ll be fine but it is an economic hit. I can only imagine how the less well off are dealing with this.

Anyone here that is for this ridiculous unnecessary shutdown actually lose a job because of it?

At this point I say fuck it. Why do we need to pay 1 teacher per 20 students plus a music, gym, and librarian when all the kids are at home doing e learning. You need no more then 1 teacher per grade level per state to make lesson plans plus maybe 1 Indian call center operator per grade per school to deal with broken links and shit.

Also don’t know what all the dmv workers, tsa agents, restaurant inspectors are doing right now.

Let’s just shut it all down, let people collect unemployment until we decide that maybe the lives of a few old fatties unlikely to make it 5 years anyways aren’t worth screwing over the next generation graduating from college with 100k in student loans and no job prospects.
