China is most certainly over 100K and we'll eventually find that out. Could be a million given the population size and the initial drama and reaction in the early, early days of the virus.
They're not going to keep marking underlying health conditions as Covid deaths anymore. Their economy could potentially be crushed by this and they're probably going to enter a depression regardless. Better to make themselves look clean.
I'm still holding out, but part of me does believe this was biological warfare on our part. Plant it, blame them, bring jobs back here, and the one minor side effect is it kills off some of our expensive old people which is technically a positive. We were the last wave after all and had time to prepare and we actually did. Everyone was so worried about Trump nuking people, I think he may have just done it more subtly via biology. Tin foil hat stuff, but it would make sense in the grand scheme of things for getting reelected and his agenda.

You think China since November has had only 5000 deaths? That's fewer than those in the Madrid, Spain Metro Area, which is a fraction of a fraction China's size and population.

Notice how bad the US infection rate is compared to every other country. Even China has a far better response to the epidemic. The incompetence of our government is clear and the economic devastation and loss of life is the consequence of the complete mishandling of this epidemic. This is a wake up call.
