Golden Coral was above Par back when Jeff Foxworthy was the spokes person. That's no lie or joke. But then one day his picture disappeared from all of the inside signage and posters, and the food turned into instant Shit, as soon as they went missing. Hometown Buffet should have gotten people arrested that crap they served.
Sweet Tomatoes has gone so far down hill, they might as well just keep on rolling through the woods and into the lake.
Their soup crocks shrank to accommodate about 4 ounces, their Soup bins went from being at least 3 gallons deep to about a gallon deep. And the soups in them started having about 70% less of the ingredient that made it what ever kind of soup. Their pasta bar used to be great, but in the end they were just putting out pasta with jar sauce, and white cheese wiz. The baker would never put out more bread until someone complained. Meanwhile the price of this shit went from about $7.00 when they first opened to almost $15.00 without a coupon.
I say good ridance to all of the above.
Having kids we used to go to them all frequently, because the kids could get pizza and kiddie crap like that. They all used to be great but Hometown Buffet, it was always unapologetic cheap bad food.
For those unfamiliar with the chain, it's like a non-shitty Hometown Buffet or Golden Corral, with a salad bar heavy smaller selection of better healthier food for a slightly higher price point.

My Uncle kept a huge pile behind the Milking barn.
Every now and then We would have to go and shovel the top crusty later open to expose the wet green gooey gaseous stuff in the center.
He told me to walk up on top of the pile and shovel one time. I finally broke through the hard crusty top and then sank down and ended up to me chest in green gooey cow pies.
