He wanted to hit a cop no matter what the cost.

The cost was very high.

FedEx driver shot and robbed, returns fire with his own weapon. Suspect dead.

A Philadelphia FedEx driver was shot in the abdomen during a robbery Tuesday night, but was able to fire back with his own weapon and kill the man suspected of attacking him.

What are the details?

The unnamed 32-year-old FedEx driver had just dropped off a package at a home in Northeast Philadelphia shortly after 7 p.m., when he was mugged and shot before defending himself with his own firearm, hitting the suspect several times. Police confirmed later that the driver is licensed to carry.

Despite his injuries, the robbery victim then drove himself to a nearby grocery store, where he saw a police officer and reported what happened.

Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told KYW-TV that the FedEx driver "was able to tell police that he was making a delivery in the 600 block of Unruh and right when he got done making that delivery, he was approached by at least one male and he was robbed at point of gun."

Minutes later, police found the 27-year-old suspect in critical condition in an alley with "multiple gunshot wounds to his chest, back and torso," KYW reported.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I see she took only a single shot while she had the upper hand and the surprise. And no follow through. And that allowed them to return 2 shots, is that what you all see?

This is the classic example of not taking criminals down completely while one has the upperhand. We see this in movies all the time. It looks like the outcome was favorable for her here so I'm glad about that.

I'd recommend shoot to kill. No other options. And stay low, use both hands for better aim and control, and kneel down or stay low and planted. That really helps fire multiple rounds if need be much more accurately.

It is easier said than done but that's because the average gun owner likely to encounter this only go to the range once in a while. To me, ranges are only good for occassional fun and tests of your firearms but do not help prepare well for reality. Too many rules and restrictions. Go to the forests and train in simulated conditions without the rules and restrictions of a gun range. That still may not make a pro level training but can at least provide some level of instincts and confidence for such situations.

@floki

Yes.

I read G. Gordon Liddy's autobiography and the one thing I remember is his advice that if someone is shooting at you, you must shoot to kill and keep shooting even after you think he's dead. And then keep shooting him more.

Lots of people have been killed by "dead" men.
