Also, since he's in the age group by far most likely to have serious medical problems with covid, maybe he's making decisions that are absolute best for his age group/situation and not optimizing for the country as a whole.

I don’t know if Fauci has lost his faculties, but he has contradicted himself and shot his mouth off too much.
What pisses me off about him is he second guesses and disputes in public the clinical results of actual practicing doctors in the field who are treating real people who are sick.
He’s an over aged bureaucrat who needs to retire and shut up.
