As temperatures began to rise in California on Friday and again Saturday, the manager of much of the state’s electric grid called on utilities to cut power to hundreds of thousands of customers.
But the rolling blackouts on those days left some of the state’s energy experts bewildered. They said that the utilities had plenty of power available and that the blackouts weren’t necessary. The grid’s capacity may be tested in coming days as temperatures are forecast to reach into the triple digits again in some places.
“They set it up like this is a historic event,” said Bill Powers, a San Diego engineer who provides expert testimony on utility matters before the state’s regulators. “This should not have triggered blackouts.”

If they blame Globaloney Warming, half the State will accept it and be extra careful in separating yellow paper from regular paper and buying metal straws or whatever it is they make folks do there.

The crawling insects of the California gulag need to be trained to be grateful for whatever scraps the Great Socialist Paradise throws them. Utility punishment is just another valuable lesson administered.

The pain must be increased until he is gone.

It's all part of California's evolution into a third world country.

State Hailed As Progressive Hub Of Technological Innovation Can't Figure Out How To Keep The Lights On

https://babylonbee.com/news/state-hailed-as-progressive-utopia-of-advanced-technology-cant-figure-out-how-to-keep-the-lights-on

SACRAMENTO, CA—The state of California, home to some of the world’s most innovative technology companies, is struggling to provide a steady flow of electricity to its residents, sources confirmed Monday.

"We will continue to be the most advanced hub of technological progress as soon as we get the power back on here," said Governor Newsom.

Electricity, which first made its debut in 1882, is a luxury Californians have come to rely upon for modern indulgences such as dishwashers, laundry machines, and indoor lighting. A recent heatwave has sparked the need for rolling blackouts throughout the state that is home to Silicon Valley, technology’s most advanced center for research and development.

Experts hope the collective brainpower housed in these technology meccas might be harnessed to solve the crisis. Sources predict these geniuses will one day provide Californians with enough reliable power to toast some bread while their neighbor runs the vacuum cleaner.

Residents of the 49 other, less advanced states hope California’s efforts might benefit them as well, and they have been glued to their televisions and computers around the clock hoping to hear some good news.

California's power problems will only get more interesting with time. Diablo Canyon is shutting down in just a few short years. That will remove about 2,000 MW of power from the grid.

Move along... nothing to see here...
East Bay water managers released about 50,000 gallons of sewage into the estuary between Oakland and Alameda on Saturday morning after a power failure caused equipment to fail at a wastewater treatment plant.

Maybe they thought with all the homeless drunks, rolling blackouts would be considered the norm.

If the law is enforced, someone can be held personally liable for this.

I've driven along that estuary a few times over the last 30 years. The whole distance, it didn't look like water you'd want to get on the sides of your shoes. At low tide it looked like the public RV dumps they used to have at rest stops along I-5.

CA power grid was already on edge in places. People stuck at home running AC and everything else 24/7 with heatwave seems like a predictable outcome.

More power, hamsters!

Now would be a good time to ask that crooked Larsonist fuck Barhack Obama where in the fuck did all of that Solyndra money go.
