This investigation was obviously undertaken in retaliation for Negy’s protected tweets, and it is serving its purpose: How many professors are going to be willing to speak out if the result is a nine-hour inquisition followed by an almost inevitable punishment? How many professors will be willing to teach necessary but controversial material if they know they might be called upon, 15 years later, to defend every statement they made in the course of teaching that material?

The university has made it abundantly clear that it does not care about Professor Negy’s free speech and due process rights. This investigation is a means to an end—to get rid of a professor whose protected expressions of opinion have made him politically inconvenient. Cases like this are canaries in the coal mine: if a public university—a government agency—can treat someone this way for deviating from the university’s orthodoxy, and face no accountability for doing so, then what (and who) is next?

The answer, of course, is you and me. We are next. If decent people do not take a stand against these abuses, it’s not a matter of if the state-endorsed mob will come for us—it’s only a matter of when.

LOL! Sacred cows above criticism but beneath agency. It's the ultimate condescending iiberal pigeon hole while being fake pro rather than con. Incapable of moral or ethical elevation, so you can't use moral or ethical standards to judge.

"Make way for the sacred cows, for they know not what they do."

You could say much the same about the radical feminists.

Beneath agency - i did not know what that meant.

Wiki: Children's sense of agency is often not taken into account because of the common disbelief that they are not capable of making their own rational decisions without adult guidance.

In the examples below, and many others, the MSM, Democrats, anarchists, BLM, and antifa view black people as children without agency.

Example #1: A child falls asleep drunk or high in a fast food drive through. The child fights with the police, steals one of their weapons, and points it at them while fleeing and is shot dead.

Example #2: A child with a history of assaulting police while armed fights with poice when they attempt to arrest the child for rape and other charges. The police are likely aware of the child's record of threatening with a gun and assaulting a police officer. The child, after fighting with the police and refusing to obey their commands, continues around a vehicle evading the grasp of one officer, finally reaching into the vehicle. He is then shot.

Example #3: A child with a history of home invasion and holdng a gun to the belly of a pregnant woman, is high on a lethal level of Fentanyl. He has trouble obeying the commands of police, and resists. Even before being subdued, he complains that he cannot get into the police car because he is claustrophobic and cannot breathe, He continues to claim that he cannot breathe, which happens when you OD on fentanyl, when being subdued. He dies, possibly OD'ing.

These children are not able to be held responsible for their actions. They lack agency. The professor appears to be spot on.

Leftists also enjoy the belief that their current script id the Perfect, Infallible final word of Marx. They seem to have repetitive script and will not tolerate facts that do no align with it. In that regard they are ahistorical.

The whole idea that history has some kind of a predetermined path and direction is Marxist AF.

Not if it doesn't align with and support their current beliefs.

I just don't think judges want to deal with blacks. They generally have little or no money. What's the point in locking them up at some point? They just won't pay anything to anyone. I don't know the crime for the white guy, but generally they can get money from somewhere.
